Not that I'm trying to avoid these questions, they're just not as clear. 'Sexual partners' is a vague term. There's always something else involved for me, maybe I can illustrate this for you:
  • a. 1-5 -- The number of women with whom I've shared emotional, intellectual, and physical attachment. With whom I've once made plans and with whom I've felt decently comfortable.
  • b. 6-10 -- This number includes women that I did honestly care for, and many, I still do.
  • c. 11-15 -- I have nothing for this range, skips to the next bracket.
  • d. 16-20 -- This includes the women whose names I will always remember.
  • e. 21+ -- This number includes the women for whom I will always be grateful, but whose names or faces I may not instantly recall.
So really, there isn't a direct answer to your question, and I don't think it would be realistic if I just picked a number.
I want to go back to this one, please clarify the exact number of women, instead of a range? And while you already explained to me from our off-site chats, explain a little how might someone have 21+ sexual partners? (You don't have to answer, btw, I'm always looking for things to ask in an AMA. lulz)

Now that we're on page 9 of this AMA... why the heck not?

1 -- The number of women (I guess it's woman now) with whom I've shared emotional, intellectual, and physical attachment. With whom I've once made plans and with whom I've felt decently comfortable.
5 -- (not including the above 1) The amount of women that I did honestly care for (whether or not our time together ended well.)
12 -- (not including the above 6) The number of women whose names I do remember, even if they were only in my life for one night.
5-8 -- (not including the above 18) Women whose names or faces I don't recall.

((So, honestly, from experience, this is average for a man Chase's age. When you're traveling alone for any amount of time, hookups happen easily and often. At least for me and those in my social circle. A friend (a female managing director in her 50s) tops us all with 78 sexual partners. You have a ready hotel room and plenty of time, really. It's how I learned the bulk of my foreign languages. I figured Chase would have had similar experiences.))

From what I've just gathered reading through all the AMAs here, you first met Carmen not as Carmen, but as Morgan Cedesina, right sir?

If that's true, then when did you know that Carmen Sandiego was Morgan Cedesina? Who found out first, how did it become common knowledge? Do you still call her Morgan?

I hesitate to ask this but... While 'Carmen Sandiego' has never been on Chase's list of *ahem* intimate partners (yet), has 'Morgan Cedesina' and Melana Lancaster?

This one's a little complicated, but not entirely. Yes, I knew her first as Morgan. I was also not part of the first teams to work on a Carmen case, because I was an instructor at the time. There were a lot of detectives in International Crimes that would jump at anything new, @Ivy Monaghan was among them. So this 'thief in a red trench coat' thing came to me via rumor.

There are, however, no official links to the two names -- Morgan Cedesina and Carmen Sandiego. Except that, for certain people, one was clearly an anagram of the other. I don't think she was trying to hide anything on that front.

I do not refer to her as Morgan. I also don't call her Carmen, really, unless it was an identifier for public notification (Blue Moon).
