Evening everyone. Since the trend is to open up with our background some, I suppose I'll get on board as well. My name is Eugene Michael Grovington, currently Chief Pilot at ACME, formerly a private military contractor and a Colonel in the US Marine Corps before that. I spent the early years of my childhood in Cold Bay, Alaska, before moving with my twin brother and younger sister to Annapolis, Maryland.

Besides the obvious of flying, my hobbies also include long range shooting, cooking, and a little bit of dancing when the mood strikes.

Random Facts
  • Eugene tends to wear something to cover his eyes, usually a pair of classic aviators
  • Prior to moving to his current apartment, Eugene lived out of the back of an aircraft at ACME Field
  • Eugene has an unspecified problem with dogs
  • Enjoys classic rock
  • Eugene maintains a collection of masquerade masks, most of which can be found hanging on the wall of his airfield office

Elaborate slightly on the dancing? Which mood strikes it?
Situationally, romantic or a touch nostalgic. When I was young, my mother loved to listen to waltzes; they'd echo through the house. I learned a few waltzes when I grew older, both to connect to the past and just for sheer enjoyment.

Do you have a favorite pair of aviators, and what's the story behind it?
I had a favorite pair, unfortunately lost now. They were a Christmas gift. I don't remember the brand but they were very comfortable. I hope if someone found them, they're at least serving that person well.

Your twin brother and younger sister, what were their names?
My twin is named Anthony James, which he always shortens to AJ. My sister is Anne.

What is the rarest mask in your collection? How did you come by it?
This one will need it's own post, just for the sake of a complete explanation. Every mask in my collection is one of a kind, so each one could be considered rare on their own unique merits. However, some of these masks have more interesting stories behind their acquisition than others. I think my top picks would be a cat eared mask, a blended comedy and tragedy mask, and a particular gold mask which came to me in an evidence bag.

What is your favorite type of plane if you have any?
Ooh, that's a tough one. I don't know about most favorite aircraft, but the most fun I've ever had flying was in a supercub on tundra tires practicing off airport operations. It was an older aircraft with no electrical system to speak of, not even a light bulb. You had to get out and turn the propeller by hand to start it. We played around landing on gravel bars, mountainsides, and anywhere else we pleased.

So... if you were drafting a cast (let's say voice, as if animated, and then, as if live action (preferred)... so do it as "cast/cast") for a potential Carmen movie (big movie... think Fellowship Of The Rings-level big... (assuming someone had a big enough story/script, and could find all the other people)... who would you want?

I'm working on continuing it, but input would be good. Maybe if it could be finished, maybe it could be printed as a book, or maybe sold as a movie (only for a big amount, and the original author get's a big cut)... if anyone, after reading through that folder (it's a live folder, so updates on my end go live when I save. If you have something to add, stash it someplace and let me know... I'll try to work it in as the story stands.))
