Open A Sweet Mystery

OK, I wrote down this question, like I would for my "Carmen Sandiego" pages on Facebook, and here is what I found, using Google and Wikipedia.
"The Toll House Inn of Whitman, MA, was established in 1930 by Terry and Ruth Graves Wakefield. Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies are named for the inn. Contrary to its name and the sign, which still stands despite the building burning down in 1984, the place was never a "toll house" and was built in 1817, not 1709. "Toll House" and "1709" was a marketing strategy.

As far as the "mysterious" ingredient in the original recipe that did not melt correctly, it was a Nestle's Chocolate Bar." :)

Oh I'm so so sorry,Zack! I should have not give up on your riddle and then all the sudden my brain hit me and there I saw the last part of the riddle from you and I knew right away it was broken up chocolate pieces from Nestle that the accidental housewife made it famous!?!?!:(

Alrighty! Both @Julie Justice and @Jade get points for that. The answer is Nestle Chocolate Bar, which unlike baking chocolate that would have melted and created chocolate cookies, these stayed intact and became the first chocolate chip cookies.

Next riddle found on crime net, see if you can figure this one out:

Since 1866 these Sweets were created by a brother and used to speak your Heart's desire.

What is the name of this treat, and what company makes them?

"Daniel Chase created Sweethearts -- the first conversation hearts -- in 1866 by devising a machine that would press food-dye-letters on the candy lozenges made famous by his brother and NECCO founder Oliver Chase."

I found this info using Google. I first found it on a site about the food and candy, but I wasn't 100% sure it was accurate, so I looked up "sweethearts candy" and found the website for NECCO which is a [website removed] and all you have to do to find this little "blurb" is look under "History." :)

I'm sorry I missed both of these questions. They are both very interesting. Of course, everything melts correctly when I make chocolate chip cookies. Hahaha. Maybe I will make some chocolate cookies for my new friends at ACME. :)

@Jade and @Julie Justice you are both CORRECT!

Looks like you solved that in record time, giving us a chance to catch up to whoever is sending these questions.

Here's another one that might prove more of a challenge:

This sweet item was once used by the ancient Egyptians to cure sore throats, but you would more commonly find it in the shape of the god Horus today, especially when it's close to Pasch.

@Lucy ... don't know if you really want wolf spiders in your home... I'd go for jumping spiders, they can't bite... wolf spiders are the fast movers, and they can bite.

Trying to switch my Lifeline phone to a better provider that doesn't shut me off after four and a half gigs of data, nothing but failure so far and "call here" and "it's on their end" and the back and forth crap... in the morning, it's time to demand the supervisor and might even get to harsh language (after three days of that). I plan to use the Lifeline phone tethered as Internet source, share that to my own router... I've done it before (it's messy, and not 100% effective, but it works). ))
