Why did Maelstrom seem like a good idea? Did you have any idea that it would go as far as it did?

Nope, Patts didn't know it would go as far as it did. Part of why she got to play a bigger role in Ultralett was probably because of her VILE affiliations. She learned later that Maelstrom had a thing with Carmen, and that would be the reason why she recruited Chase in Moscow to try get her out of this really bad decision she made.
