If your character were an animal, what would he or she be? Why?

Alternatively,
what kind of animal does your character most identify with?

Joe probably identifies with/would be a wolf.

Wolves are often portrayed as the bad guy in pop culture, and sometimes also a trickster of sorts. However, in real life, Wolves are fiercely loyal to their mate and pack and and usually will not attack unless provoked.

Likewise, Joe is often seen as a bad guy due to his chosen profession. He is often thought of as tricky and wily due to his penchant for tricks and jokes but under the mask he is a nice guy who is fiercely loyal to those he calls his friends and family.

Hello Joe.

I don't see you as a "bad" guy at all. I see you as a very good guy, who is is very good at doing some very bad things from time to time. Just like everyone else at VILE, including that Lady you work for. And I enjoy trying to foil all the crimes you and your VILE friends commit; especially those of your Elusive Lady. ;)

Hello everyone.

As most of you know by now, I am originally from a relatively small, semi-rural town in Northeast Ohio. I like it very much. I can look out my window, and see any variety of common woodland creatures; birds (yes, including the state bird, the cardinal) deer, squirrels, chipmunks, etc. So I would say I have a healthy love and respect for all animals. Except for the big, brown "barn" rats; but that is because they can carry disease, so you can't let them bother the cats and horses. Raccoons are cute, but can also be a nuisance for the same reason as well.

But the animal I would say I am most associated with is the common housecat. Because of how much we all travel as ACME agents, I don't have any pets, either at my New York office, or here in San Francisco. But at home in Ohio, we have 5 cats in the house, and an ever-changing number of "outside" cats. People see our house, and the barn, and they just assume that they can drop off their cats. Sometimes, they don't even get out of the car; they just throw the poor thing out!! And it is very hard to catch them, so you can round them up and take them to vet, to get them "fixed"; and a lot of veterinarians won't let you bring in multiple cats at one time, without wanting to give them a full exam, and shots, etc. So we always have a new litter of kitties constantly!! But the road that we live on is also part of the state highway system, so sometimes a cat does get hit by a car, crossing the road!! Part of The Circle of Life where we live at home!! A coyote got some from one of the last litters of kitties, and our neighbors on the road in back of us have these 2 dogs that have gotten loose this past spring and summer, and have been bothering other people's pets, including our cats and horses. These dogs are fairly aggressive. Our neighbors assure us that they have taken care of it, and that it won't happen again. But I'm not sure I believe it, since they never seem to know when their dogs get loose in the first place!! Only time will tell..

Also, I was born on Aug. 1, which makes me a Leo, Queen of Jungle!! Cuz we all know, in most instances in nature, it is actually the female that really does all the hard work, and keeps things going!! ;)

If I was an animal, I'd be a stoat. Mustela erminea. I like being sneaky but I got my ways. I also make a popular pet, ladies, real friendly with kids too. (lol)
Hey Lee.

Yeah, I just looked this up. It's a type of weasel, which is a type of rodent; of medium-size, that can found in many countries, and was introduced into New Zealand to help control the wild rabbit population. (Wikipedia)
Kind of cute, looks like everything from a large squirrel to a small fox. But it is still weasel..a rodent...and better off living outside, in my opinion. Sorry. LOL. :)

As far as animals are concerned I would best identify with a German Shepherd or other large, protective dog. I would even go so far as to identify with the wolves that once roamed Europe. Steadfast loyalty to one's pack is something I see as belonging to a kindred spirit.

As I've been taught since boyhood, loyalty is a value to be prized above all to one's family, one's organization, and one's beloved. Failure to do so condemns one to the icy depths of Lake Cocytus for all eternity.

Even before Goliath was in my life, large canines were always a part of my life. My father raised a Boerbel from puppyhood, a South African mastiff, which started when I was four years old. His name was Ajax, after the Grecian warrior of the Trojan wars, large of size and steadfast of loyalty like his mythological counterpart.

Dad raised him to protect the family whenever he was away with the military, which was frequently.

And of my siblings I felt closest kinship with the dog. I remember feeling it was rather unfair that as my life expanded his began to contract, to a point that he could not see past his own snout by my last year of high school. I was deeply saddened when Ajax passed over the Rainbow Bridge shortly after I joined the South African Army. I had a small headstone commissioned for him with my first paycheck that Mum put in the garden.

It read:

Ajax

In Loving Memory of the Guardian Dog of the Bilby Family

June 1987 - July 2001

Rescquiat Im Pace

Canis Familiaris Pia Fidelis
Every afternoon he would wait for us children to come home, even as infirmity and age weakened him, his tail would wag mightily when we would pass through the door and he would greet us enthusiastically as we came home from school.

It was this loyalty from a being outside our own species that inspired me to bring Goliath into my life.

On a lighter note, I was grateful that the Pope finally said that dogs do in fact ascend to Heaven. Though since having Goliath in my life I debate whether it is Boerbels or German Shepherds that guard the Gates of Saint Peter to Paradiso.

(A/N: The Latin of the last line translates into the species name of the domestic dog (all breeds) and Pious and Faithful. Pia Fidelis was a title often bestowed to Roman Legions by emperors for faithful and steadfast service, and Ajax was a loyal and protective companion of our family for many years.)

If I were an animal I think I'd like to be Pan Paniscus, or the Bonobo Chimpanzee. Smart, playful and peace loving, unlike their more violent common chimpanzee brethren. They're also surprisingly good at maths and using tools.

(Answer is in OOC format)

Canonical Ivy has identified with a Tigress, but if she were an animal it would be the Honey Badger. She is a fearless and not willing to back down--sometimes to the point of recklessness. Ivy is also tougher than she looks and is able to get out of most scrapes from resilience.

Wolf
"Wolves" are value-driven individuals who tend to remain mysterious and complex even after you’ve become close to one. They are often creative and inspired individuals. They are good at perceiving emotions and are sensitive to the feelings of others, but they are not very prone to revealing much of themselves until they trust someone completely. That said, they are intensely interested in the well-being of others and are often seen as protectors as well as natural leaders.
