i understand. i truly do. my parents both spent a good bit of time in hospitals, and being left alone in the world has always been one of my biggest fears. but what i know about hospitals is that they're full of smart people (doctors, nurses, technicians) who are good at their jobs. and since your grandma's surgery is planned, they know what's going on ahead of time, which is a different situation from what your mom experienced (if i understand correctly). so i'm sure that it will be fine and your grandma will come out of it for the better!
@Charlet back before i had my first surgery, i was scared about it, and my boss at the time took me aside one day and said, "you are going to be fine. it is going to go well." so now i'm saying to you, your grandma will be fine. it will go well.
