i mean, certainly i could have learned the same lessons about femaleness and femininity from nancy drew or the sailor senshi or the spice girls that i learned from carmen (and indeed the latter two were REALLY important gender rolemodels for me as i was starting to realize i was trans). but carmen was the one i did learn them from, and who made the biggest and deepest emotional impression on me, simply by reason of my imprinting on her so young.
