As Carmen both IC and sometimes OOC, you seem to have it all together. Did you ever have insecurities or ever feel inadequate? How did you develop stability and be such a good boss?
'Having it together' is rather external. Unless you've truly been in the place of someone, it's difficult to judge who they truly are, or what they may have suffered.

Writing as Carmen, I've illustrated that there are reasons for the red trench coat and hat. Whether it's to distract, shield or mitigate, the core of these reasons rests in illusions.

Inadequacy and insecurity are native to perception, of course. As a human being, I experience them sufficiently. The secret to my stability, thus far, deals directly with being 'a good boss.' When one has dozens of lives to assure, one's own problems seem trivial in comparison.

When you took ACME Tower, and left it in the Tunisian desert... Did you honestly think it was recoverable?
I had no delusions that ACME Tower would have been salvageable after it was transported to Tunisia. I did not, however, expect that you would take the 'scorched earth' route.

[From Archived - Paradigm Shift]
...while the clues she had meticulously left in the tower were seemingly neglected as its owners ironically chose to reduce the once gleaming structure to dust.

Someone once sent me their blood encased in a small vial as 'tribute.' I can't rightly say whom, only that we are no longer in contact.

(Naturally, this is more OOC than IC, but it fits, somehow.)
Did they think you were a vampire or something? That just seems a wee bit creepy. Somebody send me a thing of blood, I'd be having a big bowl of Honey Bunches of Nope

I agree, it was (and is still) odd. I'm sure at the time, the person wanted to give a part of themselves to me and saw it fitting as blood is rather personal. I'm sure at some point, they understood this decision was a bad one.

I just heard on the news they're going to have to remove the Sakura trees in Washington because of damage to a sea wall. They have to build a sea wall and replant new trees.

Okay wait. Only 158 of the 2,500 have to be taken down. They are also taking clippings from the cut down trees to propagate new ones

@Lucy ... don't know if you really want wolf spiders in your home... I'd go for jumping spiders, they can't bite... wolf spiders are the fast movers, and they can bite.

((Will lose my ACP internet towards the end of the month, unless anyone knows about it ending sooner. Trying to switch my Lifeline phone to a better provider that doesn't shut me off after four and a half gigs of data, nothing but failure so far and "call here" and "it's on their end" and the back and forth crap... in the morning, it's time to demand the supervisor and might even get to harsh language (after three days of that). I plan to use the Lifeline phone tethered as Internet source, share that to my own router... I've done it before (it's messy, and not 100% effective, but it works). ))

((The 'net is the main way to apply for jobs now, so I need that, and I've moved/changed Lifeline providers before without an issue, so no idea what the problem is. I have active Verizon through ACP, active Lifeline through Airtalk... is that somehow the issue? If anyone knows, please let me know before I tear someone a new one (ya know what I mean). After three days of this, and two days about a month ago, I'm ready to walk there with katana in hand.))
