Lately I've been giving updates with my DA posting of the latest pages to Loaded Stone. How the writing process has been moving along for my latest prose based story.

Every once in a while I feel it does me good to write in that format as to not forget how to do it. Working with comic format comes to me more naturally than prose since I've been doing it for much longer. The reaction to this on DA has me concerned. That of people either saying nothing of support or in advance saying they don't support the story being made.

I know Loaded Stone has gained a small following here, and do wonder if any of you have read the connecting stories to it. If you have read connected works, please I'd like your opinion. Is my writing really that bad?

No @systemcat, your writing is not bad is not bad at all. In fact, it is quite good. In fact, when I look back at all of posts on these different threads you've gotten a lot of positive feedback, since you first came here.

I certainly remember and understand what it's like to be new here, when you come here from another site, where perhaps you're use to instant feedback--good or bad--wanted--or unwanted--and want to play with people. If you go back on my page you will see that I was like that, too. I already had a very clear idea of who I wanted my character to be; and if you go to my page, and look go back, you will see that a lot of my statuses were written wanting that kind of immediate response. I had never been on a site like this, that is dedicated to role-play; and I had to adjust my writing--and my expectations a little.

I had to understand that even though there are a lot of registered members on here, they might not all be on at the same time; and some of our most active members may live in different time zones in different states or in different countries. So, I had to learn to be a bit patient. At the time we only had the ?emoji so I was very happy when I could see that someone ? what I had a posted; and the fact that I could see at a glance how many views and comments my post has gotten was encouraging. I found that if I was a little patient, I would get good comments from other members and admin, too. (This doesn't "show" on any of the posts, of course; but if you look back on the "ACME Retro" RP, a lot of the posts I wrote are heavily edited; because Ivy "busted" me a lot for "god-modding" a lot back then. But, Ivy understood that I had never been on a website dedicated to role-playing before and was very sweet and positive with her suggestions, and after I made the suggestions, she would always go back and ? my posts, which I always appreciated. It has taken me years to learn that lesson, but I finally did. Lol. ?

And, it seems to me, that if you go back and look at all the things you've posted, since you've been here, you have gotten very similar feedback. On one of your earliest posts, I remember Chase telling you that he liked your stuff very much; and would definitely publish it; and told you to keep working on finding your voice. You have also gotten positive comments from Tenchi, Lucy, Claire Yeon and even me; if you remember my comment that not choosing a side and having both ACME and VILE "court" you was a new thing; and that I considering your stories, I hope you eventually choose ACME.

And now we have several new basic emojis:?❤???? along with the ". . ." so if you have posted something, and only see emojis on you post, even if there is no comment--or if someone does comment later--please take that as a form of feedback, too.

I will try to be back later, and look at some of your threads, and either read or re-read and comment on some of those things, too, if that helps you. ?

I appreciate the likes and compliments on the comic pages ?. But if you look at else where, places like DA or FF.net, it's invisible what I've done. I haven't written a prose based story in two years and that last one that was put up? Years of work done to create it but no one has read it. Only it's epilogue.

I'm not looking for instant feedback. Just simply feedback over time but real feedback that tells me the person read the content.

Because of what I've grown used to .. well I decided before my Core membership expires, this worth was asking.

Being used to my IG work barely existing as far as the internet is concerned. Knowing plot B inside Loaded Stone crossed paths into the CS fandom. I tried to reach out to people on FB and the Fandom.com site, to discovered if there was an interested audience, this was coming. Those postings happened back in Aug. & Sept., I believe. I've given up thinking anyone will ever reply to them. I wish I'd known of this forum back when I had been trying to discover if anyone was interested in fan fiction with the basis ? .

But it's so disappointing about DA and FF. DA has been my main posting site for over ten years. The prose based stories I've produced. Especially Devil's Blood. Public lack of commenting has felt like a gut punch.

Also I thought the ACME or VILE thing was the site admin.s choosing it on me ??

I know I've said this before but I'm not a good RPer :(. To give an idea how I write, just one section of story which could be three to ten pages or more, could take me over a week to write. I'm really bad with inventing content fast on the fly.

I had never really been on any fan-fic sites before this; Facebook and TECS were really my only experiences with role-play and writing any kind of fan-fic; so perhaps in a way, it was easier for me to adapt to things here.

I hope you stay here; I will read and comment more on the things you have already posted' and take your poll if I can find it.

No, when I first joined, in 2014, you declared which side you were on, when you filled out your profile, and admin accepted it, and you were welcomed in. But, it's different now for the new people which is fine.

Don't give give up; there is a place here for everyone who really wants to be here.?

I'm planning on staying. You guys have been friendly to me so far and I can't say that for every forum I've ever stepped into. *Gives a hug.*

What's TECS?

That poll can be found on my profile page on DA. My sig. here leads to an offshoot of that, going into an area of my gallery. So the profile isn't hard to get to from there.

That story will be posted in this forum when I'm done working on it. ... I'm not sure what you guys will make of it. Jocelyn had appeared in a story before Loaded Stone, and that wasn't posted here except in a couple clips to show how VILE was used in that story. Cheri and Chester .. I thought I explained those two earlier but reading over my posts here, I guess not. I know I explained who they were on DA. Those guys in the beginning of Loaded Stone. They are AU takes on two versions of the Chief. In Snake Pit they get the last names of Thigpen and Bumpass. Patrick also premiered in the same story as Jocelyn, but as you know from reading, didn't appear in Loaded Stone. So with these guys being unfamiliar to you and the CS AUs being very different. ??

TECS is just an abbreviation for this great site, The Elusive Carmen Sandiego. ?

I assume by DA, you mean Deviant Art? ? It's been a years since I looked at that site. I think the last time I was on I was looking at something by Stephanie Chateau, I'm not sure. But, I guess you would be easy enough to find. I'll have to give it a try. Although, I think people can post polls on here; and I guess that's what I thought you meant.

The idea for your story sounds great. I think having a story with multiple Chiefs is a good idea, since you stories, since you go back-and-forth between universes.

I posted a story on here, in my Journal called "Lucky Lady Justice" which I originally wrote on Facebook, which I thought would go over well on here, based on "The Blarney Burglary" ep of WitWiCS? where Carmen sends Vic to steal the Blarney Stone; but of course, I substituted myself and my friends for the contestants on the show. I tried to find actual transcripts of the show; but of course I couldn't; so I looked up the ep itself, and and sat here, at my computer, and played it over and over; and actually wrote the clues out word-for-word from the episode. Look it up. You may like it.

Thanks for the hug. *Hugs back.* ?

Yes, DeviantArt.

Er, neither is a chief in the story. This is set before ACME became an officially recognized business and those two actually work for a different but legitimate detective agency. Chester while being a detective isn't at the top of the place's totem pole. Cheri .. well given this is set in '43, not to be a mean to gender trope ( considering I'm a lady ) but remembering women generally weren't thought of having "up there jobs", shes the place's secretary. While that is her job, she does detective work behind her boss's back and normally does switch shifts of that with Chester, unknown to the other employees too. It's how Chester's cases get solved of this partnership and how Cheri gets needed extra pay by him handing her some of his pay check.

Further as well, the whole series of stories is set in the same AU.

Unsaid in the story since it's many years down the road in the AU. By the 90's, Chester is a chief working for ACME and for a time does have Zack & Ivy under his wing. However here clearly not a computer program.

Post me a link to Lucky Lady Justice, and I'll listen to it while doing my work tomorrow. ?

Is the game show in full episodes any where online? I haven't seen it since it's airings on PBS.

Also welcome. ?

The game show is on Youtube currently. From what I've seen here your writing is solid and the drawings elevate your stories even more. So don’t worry about the quality of your writing too much.

@systemcat. Yes, you can find both gameshows, WitWiCS? and WiTiCS? and the cartoons WoEiCS? and even the new "Carmen Sandiego" cartoon by doing a general search on YouTube; although you may not be able to find ALL eps, from ALL series.

Now, when back in 2014, when I was trying--and failing--to find a written (printable) transcript for "The Blarney Burglary" ep of WitWiCS? so I could adapt it for the story I was writing, of course. my search results showed that ep as being on YouTube. But when I clicked on it, I have to say, both the video and sound quality were basically ?. Good enough to suffer through, if you're just watching on your computer; but not good enough at all, if you're trying to write down the clues, word-for-word, by hand, watching the ep over and over. I went back and looked on my Facebook and saw that I got that episode from the website dailymotion. They broke it down into 2 eps (even though it is NOT really a 2 part ep) but it worked well enough for my purpose.

I originally wrote my story Lucky Lady Justice on my Facebook page; but I did not "share" it directly from Facebook. I still had all my notes out, so I just re-posted it in my Journal on here; it should be easy enough to find, if you use the "? Search" in the top right corner of your screen and that title. It is just a story; no pics or illustrations and no audio.

I like the idea of Cheri, the secretary/detective. It reminds me of the very first role-play on here
(I'm stopping for now and will finish tomorrow)

Actually it's only the PBS shows I wasn't aware were still available to watch. I own a copy of WoEiCS and subscribe to Netflix ( bummer it's unknown if there will be a season 3 ).

When I'm not writing today, I'm going to locate your story in the forum. ..What I mean by listening to it. Tenchi Masaki knows what I'm talking about but I don't think it was said openly. When I went over his story Babes in Toyland, I had it in a text to speech reader. That way I can draw & color while getting entertainment. Can't do the same while writing, that would be just too distracting.

Now I feel bad Cheri while she has a role, it isn't as large as the other 3 main characters. That while this story is still being fleshed out she's only appeared twice so far in that writing. Jocelyn, Patrick, and Chester have all have segments written much longer. I know since where Cheri & Chester work hasn't been established in earlier stories, that agency does deserve a pause to detail to be said about it. Meaning outside these two characters getting a more formal introduction than in the beginning of Loaded Stone. More should come out in regards to them & that work place. I do know I'm not planning on having either jump into working for ACME even through I plan to write either Jocelyn or Patrick put the offer on the table. It's very easy for me to picture how C&C could have that work opportunity presented. What if considering when this is set, ACME doesn't have a full staff active since those employees are serving in the military?
