@systemcat, your writing is not bad is not bad at all. In fact, it is quite good. In fact, when I look back at all of posts on these different threads you've gotten a lot of positive feedback, since you first came here.
I certainly remember and understand what it's like to be new here, when you come here from another site, where perhaps you're use to instant feedback--good or bad--wanted--or unwanted--and want to play with people. If you go back on my page you will see that I was like that, too. I already had a very clear idea of who I wanted my character to be; and if you go to my page, and look go back, you will see that a lot of my statuses were written wanting that kind of immediate response. I had never been on a site like this, that is dedicated to role-play; and I had to adjust my writing--and my expectations a little.
I had to understand that even though there are a lot of registered members on here, they might not all be on at the same time; and some of our most active members may live in different time zones in different states or in different countries. So, I had to learn to be a bit patient. At the time we only had the ?emoji so I was very happy when I could see that someone ? what I had a posted; and the fact that I could see at a glance how many views and comments my post has gotten was encouraging. I found that if I was a little patient, I would get good comments from other members and admin, too. (This doesn't "show" on any of the posts, of course; but if you look back on the "ACME Retro" RP, a lot of the posts I wrote are heavily edited; because Ivy "busted" me a lot for "god-modding" a lot back then. But, Ivy understood that I had never been on a website dedicated to role-playing before and was very sweet and positive with her suggestions, and after I made the suggestions, she would always go back and ? my posts, which I always appreciated. It has taken me years to learn that lesson, but I finally did. Lol. ?
And, it seems to me, that if you go back and look at all the things you've posted, since you've been here, you have gotten very similar feedback. On one of your earliest posts, I remember Chase telling you that he liked your stuff very much; and would definitely publish it; and told you to keep working on finding your voice. You have also gotten positive comments from Tenchi, Lucy, Claire Yeon and even me; if you remember my comment that not choosing a side and having both ACME and VILE "court" you was a new thing; and that I considering your stories, I hope you eventually choose ACME.
And now we have several new basic emojis:?
???? along with the ". . ." so if you have posted something, and only see emojis on you post, even if there is no comment--or if someone does comment later--please take that as a form of feedback, too.
I will try to be back later, and look at some of your threads, and either read or re-read and comment on some of those things, too, if that helps you. ?
