Letting go.
I own only myself here and do not own anyone else mentioned otherwise.

Invader is walking with ivy and another member of ACME , they are out for a walk after finding they had the day off. Walking along invader seems happy to be outside again but is in a world of her own right now. Ivy walks just behind her as the other agent walks on ahead with a rather stern face. They are walking along a path paved in bricks, and in front of them is a chalk drawing of a clock. Upon seeing it reality seems to distort and invader finds herself clinging to the 11 on the clocks face. Memories of other world flash though her mind, making her weep silently. She can hear ivy and the other agent talking to one another and watches as the hour hand falls towards her.

The clock shudders as the hand moves backwards and the 11 that invader clings to crumbles and she falls. The face behind the hour hand crumbles to dust raining down on her. Reaching out she catches a hold of the number 9 on the clock face. While she is clinging here she sees ivy and the other detective waking though a maze of bricks. They seem to be walking in a hurry, and they are both looking for her. Invader can hear both of them calling her , though one of them finally spots her clinging for dear life. Invader wants to call back to them but she is mute and has no voice to call with.

"Hey!" One calls "No need to cling to that anymore , you can let go now."

Invader continues to cling to the number as it crumbles, and the face of the clock seems to tilt further and further. Eventually it flips, and she is hanging upside down as the face of it crumbles. She continues to try and hang on, but there is nothing left to hang on to. At long last her grip gives way, and she falls as though she is underwater. Her fall is slow, she seems to be deaf and mute simultaneously. Time seems to slow down as she falls, and eventually she feels someone grabbing her.

"Hey are you ok ?" Calls a gruff voice.

Invader opens her eyes to find herself curled up on the brick pathway, and watches as water is washing the remains of the chalk drawing away. Getting to her feet she staggers, and almost falls several times without reason. Ivy reaches out to steady her, invader is silent and contemplating something. Perhaps it is time to let certain things go, though she cant speak of certain things just yet. Her head throbs and she tries to make sense of what just happened.

"Hey" Reassures Ivy "You don't have to talk unless you are ready to."

Invader just staggers over to a bench and places her head in her hands and trembles.

"I ...don't know...if...I..will ever...be...ready." she moans.
"One step at a time!" Replies Ivy with a smile.

There is the sound of chimes.

"One...step...at...a...time..." Invader echos.

A clock starts ticking loudly.
(tick tock)
one...step...
( tick tock)
one...step.

This is where I wake up and the scene fades.
the end.

one of the GOOD spiders you want around because they eat all the really bad bugs in the house. We put them outside :)

@Lucy ... don't know if you really want wolf spiders in your home... I'd go for jumping spiders, they can't bite... wolf spiders are the fast movers, and they can bite.

((Will lose my ACP internet towards the end of the month, unless anyone knows about it ending sooner. Trying to switch my Lifeline phone to a better provider that doesn't shut me off after four and a half gigs of data, nothing but failure so far and "call here" and "it's on their end" and the back and forth crap... in the morning, it's time to demand the supervisor and might even get to harsh language (after three days of that). I plan to use the Lifeline phone tethered as Internet source, share that to my own router... I've done it before (it's messy, and not 100% effective, but it works). ))

((The 'net is the main way to apply for jobs now, so I need that, and I've moved/changed Lifeline providers before without an issue, so no idea what the problem is. I have active Verizon through ACP, active Lifeline through Airtalk... is that somehow the issue? If anyone knows, please let me know before I tear someone a new one (ya know what I mean). After three days of this, and two days about a month ago, I'm ready to walk there with katana in hand.))
