Open [Introductory RP] Green Tea (緑茶)

[Suhara]

Now that the tea had been served, Suhara was interested to know more about his guests. It was the time to ask them to introduce themselves to one another more formally.

"I would like to thank you all again for coming to this tea ceremony," Suhara spoke after taking his third sip of tea, "My name is Suhara Nakamura. I was born in Osaka, Japan but most of my life has now been spent as an ACME detective in San Francisco. It would please me to know more about each of you and where you were born."

 

[Jade]

"My name is Jade Ezell. I was born in Hawaii on March 6,1982 while my father was in the Navy and came to mainland since I was four along with my mother and my younger brother long story short I've been a free agent and amateur detective ever since and dream to help out ACME someday whenever they're stumped on a case." Jade introduced herself in front of Suhara and the others.

 

[Invader]

Invader realizes that she can't remember much but gets up to address the group nonetheless and quiets her fears.

"Hello to all of you" she announces " I am invader, I was born on an alternative earth in the year 1983 according to your measurement of time, .....and then grew up in a world called everdream. I have been on this world for.... 13 years as a prisoner.... in a not very nice place,.... I have recently escaped. The wonderful people here have agreed to take me in without question. I seek to repay them for their kindness until I can find a way back home, until then I am at your service. Though I do hope I can learn more about all of you, and forge friendships." Invader concludes and walks silently back to her seat.

 

[Neb]

Kidman bit her lip. As a Brit, it was her secret shame that she didn't care for tea but had continued to drink what she deemed 'leaves in water' so not to stick out any more than she already did. After a while she had discovered that she could make it tolerable by turning it into 'sugar in water with a hint of leaves' and was in the process of doing so with her current cup when the question of origin came up.

The girl frowned and said nothing as she tipped the sugar bowl into her diner mug, preferring the others to speak first while she gathered her thoughts.

 

[Suhara]

Suhara smiled at the quiet girl, "No need to be shy. We are all strangers today, but we will not be when we leave."

He hoped his prodding would help her to speak up.

 

[Jade]

'Hmm...' Jade thought 'Is there a reason why Kitty won't speak up and tell about herself in front of all of us or is there a secret in her that she has to keep to herself for an important reason? I'll guess I'll never known.' as Jade quietly drinks her tea while waiting for anyone to introduce their own selves.

 

[Colleen]

Colleen enjoyed her matcha tea while listening to each person's stories. She watched as the group gently pressed "Kitty" for conversation before speaking.

"My name is Colleen Slate. I was born in Hong Kong and adopted at age three. I grew up with my adoptive family in a small New England town by the ocean. I am relatively new at ACME and hoping to begin a long career, such as @Suhara's. Specializing in surveillance technology, perhaps."

 

[Suhara]

As the guests finished introducing themselves, Suhara once again called for everyone's attention.

"I would like to give each of you a sheet of washi paper," the older man said, then he began to distribute colorful Japanese papers with various prints on them, "On each piece, you can write down a wish, much like you would when you blow out the candles of a birthday cake."

After handing each sheet of paper out, Suhara wrote on his own Washi paper: I wish to enjoy many more tea ceremonies on lovely days like today.

[Writers, go ahead and tell us what you write on your Washi paper. If you would like, describe the pattern and type of paper you received.]

 

[Jade]

Jade wrote her own Washi paper: I wish to aid out ACME whenever they needed my help in order to solve cases that is tough and my knowledge can helpful for them there's hope I can join in the fun...then again maybe not.

 

[Invader]

Invader gazes at the paper, it is a soft purple with Lotus flowers in silver on it. She finds the color and pattern quite mesmerizing, and wonders about the meaning behind the flower shapes. The paper itself is delicate in nature and she hesitates to write on it. On the paper, she writes I wish to find a way back home.

 

[Suhara]

Suhara Nakamura took another sip of his tea. He folded his piece of washi paper twice so that it made a small square to which be placed between the outer layers of his kimono.

"Thank you all for joining me today for tea," he concluded. "You are welcome to stay the afternoon, and please not forget to keep your washi paper with written wishes for luck. I hope they will all come true."
