Iridium, atomic number 77, is among the hardest, shiniest, and most dense of the elements. It is quite rare in the Earth's crust, but abundant (by comparison) in meteorites. Its high melting point and resistance to corrosion make it extremely useful for everything from spark plugs to production of antimatter. It is also the only metal to maintain good mechanical properties at temperatures above 1,600 °C. I trust you will use that information how you see fit.
