If Neb grew up as a normal person (without having been through what she went through or joining VILE), where would she be right now, and what would be her career?
Neb probably would have ended up in the US (I can't see her staying in Ukraine) doing something that lacked formality and was hands-on, like a mechanic or washing planes or something. I could see her working for an airline, because planes. She would have been a geek, with geeky friends, and they would go to comic conventions and Rocky Horror. She'd also hang out on the beach a lot, but not crowded ones. Like, the rocky ones.
Who, in Neb's opinion, is the worst person ever (and should be destroyed at all costs), and in contrast, who is the best person ever (and should be saved at all costs)? And why?
Neb doesn't believe in "at all costs" because that could include a cost that is too costly, like say, blowing up the planet or aliens stealing everyone's brains.
So after we remove that, the person she'd be most likely to kill (for reasons other than self-defense,
@Flag ) is...uh...probably any serial killer/
rapist that kills/
rapes for lulz, really.
Best person who must be saved? That's an even harder question, and one that is at the center of Neb's crisis over her powers. Who is worthy of her healing them and who isn't. That's not something she wants on her. That said, people who protect lots of other people get bumped up on that list, as well as people she likes, and whoever happens to be physically nearby. That would probably end up being Carmen in most cases, so lets say Carmen. You were all expecting that anyway. ;-)
Does not knowing your past bother you at all? If I just woke up one day with no memory of my past, I'd like to know where I came from and why I don't remember.
It bothers Neb immensely, which you see at the end of
this journal, and then more in
this one. Neb's missing memory is based off my own, and for me, I didn't realize my memory was missing until someone asked me to remember something. That took a few years, because no one ever bothered to ask me about my childhood until I went to college. But when they did....it was like....there was nothing there. It was terrifying.
It took many, many years of active hunting for memories to get a vague sense of history, something I gave Kidman in her reboot to Neb as she sought out her former life. If she worked on it, she could probably dig up her childhood too like I did (minus when she was drugged) but she's been afraid to. Her visions in the temple mirror the glimpses of my past that I get my dreams. That indicates that the information is still with us, we just have to find a way to get at it, and a want to get it.
What is the most fun you've ever had?
Fun, aye? That's a surprisingly difficult question. I'll have to get back to you on that.
Neb has suddenly been tasked with liberating a piece of art (either from a museum or private collection, doesn't matter). Who is her heist dream team and why? Let's cap team size at 3 plus herself.
Obviously Carmen. Carmen's a choice, right? Then Flag, and, seeing as this is a dream team, Chase. Welcome to VILE, Chase!
