Hmm... agents stuck in city, they blame VILE, VILE comes walking through the area blaming ACME, then they team up to battle an evil clown... oh, wait... some guy I've never heard of wrote that already.

We could maybe have it be non-canon and invoke some reasonable amount of Sci-Fi (nothing too incredibly outlandish)... just a random 'have some fun with it and see what comes out' kind of story. Could be vampires, ghosts, maybe a Freddy Kruger-type guy, alien invasion, super-plague, The Blob, secret society... pick your horror/mystery trope and maybe toss some comedy in there for good measure... maybe a crashed UFO or friendly aliens to taste, let cook for a few pages or until suitably done... season with anything you can think of to make it chooch better.

Recipe for A Madcap RP:
- 1 cup Ash vs.-esque
- 2 tbsp Dungeons and Dragons (subsitute VTM or Fallout. Optional)
- ??? tbsp Re-animator Hot Sauce
- 1/2 one Silent Hill (Take the Silent Hill, remove the excessive violence, leave the metaphor for society and the Feels)
- 1 or 2 Cat From Outer Space
- add whatever else is deemed necessary
- mix thoroughly in a hovercraft full of eels

Had another idea when I went to bed last night... normal day of cases and whatnot, then all tech just ceases to function (I'm leaning towards computers, cell phones, communicators, computerized cars, no internet, all stop working), only things left working are the old like 50's or 60's vintage cars, basic corded phones, regular FM walkie-talkies... agents have to fall back on basic training, books, writing stuff down on paper... could be interesting, also.

Here’s a little idea:

Pitch 1: “Honey, I Shrunk ACME” Detectives get shrunk down like that movie and have to find a way to get big again.

“Honey, I Shrunk VILE” VILE thieves get shrunk down, but Carmen is undeterred and sees it as a way to test herself by stealing things anyway.

And while we’re on the subject,

Pitch 2: “Honey, I Blew up ACME!” Detectives are turned into 40ft giants, but can they still be effective crime solvers?

“Honey, I Blew up VILE!” Thieves are turned into 40ft giants!, Stealing just got a whole lot more fun!

Trapped in a Puzzle House: ACME, VILE or gasp! both must figure out how to escape from a house with moving walls, changing rooms, tunnels, ladders, stairways, and so on.
The foundation of the home would be mechanical analog construction. Clockwork steampunk design insures function of core features without electricity! Built on top of this you’d have electric dependent systems to do digital based stuff with.

VILE is on trial and ACME lawyers and prosecutors have to gather enough evidence (the Loot and the Warrant) to send these crooks to jail without fail! Will this actually work, or will it be one huge OBJECTION!!!

Hello @Lucy.

I did look at the terms for the ACME Retro role play in Forums/Role Praying Games, and yeah, it was 10 yrs ago, so your character would be younger; but as one of the oldest people here, I think I asked if I could make myself even younger; and I think Ivy told me that it was as long as I was still old enough to be a student. I think that it happened in "Chat" back then; but I'm not sure; I can't find it now. ?
