"Nace Bilby, you said? I'd heard we were gettin' a new instructor. Pleased to meetcha."
"Likewise, my friend." Nace said shaking the American's hand. He'd hears of Texas, where this gentleman clearly hailed from and was well aware of its reputation for crack shots. Although he was likely to claim the Boers of the South African Veldt could contest the claim, after the drubbing they gave the Crown at the dawn of the 20th century.

He heard the Israeli issue a challenge and said, "I'm certain someone amongst us knows how to operate it. I recall a shout of pull and then the shooter engages the target. And I shall be most willing to place a small wager on score."

The Russian agent accepted the American instructor's hand and gave a zealous handshake, almost all of his teeth visible in an enthusiastic smile.
"Eugene. Flight instructor."
"Evgeni Gavriilovich," the agent answered, before adding, "We're have similar name."

Within a few moments, the two were suddenly surrounded by an assembly of shooters. A jovial Israeli sauntered up to the two of them, followed shortly by a Brit carrying a piece at least twenty years older than the Russian's own firearm. Most intriguing to Evgeni, however, was the odd-hatted person with what seemed to be a distinctly foreign-American accent. He admired the man's fantastic, polished revolver.

This was turning into quite the gathering. The Israeli, @Mikal, quickly proposed a friendly competition.
"Anyone know how to play with these? We can have some fun, and whoever loses buys the first round."
Evgeni was no stranger to a party. And even though this party lacked any female participants so far, it still promised to be a great show. "Sure. We're take bets?"

Tex's smile got a bit wooden, but he kept it on.

"Well that sounds like a mighty fine idea you have there. I know how to work the ol' clay shooter without any fuss. I'll go ahead and fire 'em off, you boys go ahead and work out who's goin' first and what guns ya want. I'm not much a' one for bettin' on bullets. Cards are more my weakness."

He chuckled, and as a matter of habit patted his vest pocket, where he always kept a well-worn pack of cards. Leaning against a wall, he pulled a toothpick out of his other pocket and brought it up to his mouth, chewing on it slightly. He was hiding the fact that he was slightly tense poorly, but he kept smiling and stuck around to see what the others would decide.

When Jason West arrived at the range, he could faintly hear the sounds of rifles being fired over the roar of the engine in his Mustang. After parking the car, he got out and went to the trunk to retrieve his weapons for the day. This being his first time at this particular range, Jason was unsure of what distances and what calibers would be allowed on the range. After opening the trunk, He looked through the stacks of cases currently held in the trunk and finally settled on 3 weapons for the day.

After checking with the range staff and making sure his weapons would be allowed on the firing line, Jason stepped out and saw a small crowd of men that appeared to preparing for a competition of some sort. Jason decided he was going to the other end of the range to hit a few long range targets before moving in a little closer for some more close quarters. He laid the cases out on the bench and began to open them one by one. Jason's first weapon for the day was his Barrett 98B .338 Lapua Magnum which he placed on the ground and settled in behind it with a box of handloads.

"Hey, new guy!" Mikal called out to the blond man (@Jason West) who was shooting the M98B, "We're going to start shooting the clay pigeons. Want to join?"

Jason suddenly heard shout from the other end of the range. He looked to see a tall man, wearing what appeared to be an Israeli military hat. After hearing what the what he presumed to be Israeli was asking, he couldn't refuse. Jason replied, "Yeah! Give me a minute." He picked his rifle up, placed it back in its case and hurried down the range to meet these new people that he could only assume were ACME of some sort.

Once he reached the men, he reached out with a heavily tattooed arm and said "I'm Jason West, the new ACME programmer."

"Nace Bilby, I just arrived today myself and I'm also the new firearms instructor," Nace said, holding out his hand to the newcomer, "When did you get here?"

I got here yesterday morning. It was a short move for me as I was living in San Jose until yesterday. Jason surveyed the weapons each man had with them. He easily identified a .303 Enfield and a Mosin as well as what appeared to be a range rental 700LTR. The only gun he couldn't seem to place was what Jason referred to as a "Frankengun."

After taking a quick glance downrange, he noticed that the man who had the "Frankengun" seemed to be the most accurate and thought he would probably be his only competition for the clay shoot they were about to have.

"So for these clays, is any weapon fair game?" Jason asked, silently hoping they would say "Yes." Jason had a special weapon in mind if this was to be the case.

"I moved all the way from London, so I'm sort of awaiting all my furniture and the like, living out of a couple of my suitcases and sleeping on an air mattress until that is the case." Nace replied.

"So what's the deal with your weapon?" Nace replied, as he watched Jason taking the weaon from its case, "My own weapon is one soldiers of the Commonwealth carried into action for decades. The .303 Enfield No.4T was even converted to a 7.62 variant called the L42. My great grandfather and grandfather carried the .303 Enfield in both World Wars and I was first trained on such a rifle as a boy."

As Jason opened the smaller of the two rifle cases he had brought with him, he said "This is one of my favorite weapons. Its a GA Precision GAP-10 chambered in .308. It has an adjustable gas block and, is in my personal opinion, one of the best piston driven ARs on the market." Jason had waited almost 4 months for this rifle to be custom built to his specifications, one of which was a threaded barrel so he could easily attach a silencer.

After attaching the silencer for intimidation factor as well as the menacing looks that the weapon emanated, he quickly selected 2 magazines from the case and inserted one into the recessed mag-well.

With his usual flair, Jason asked "Who is ready to do this?"

"So for these clays, is any weapon fair game?"
"We plan on using the rented shotguns, yeah? But all is fair if you want to use them," Mikal replied. He know almost instantly that he was going to lose if he used his sniper rifle, and probably still if he used a shotgun. Neither were his speciality.

Either way, it seemed like a preferable way to spend the rest of his time, and he wanted to see the rest of ACME at work. Mikal turned to @Tex "Ace" Holdum who seemed to be manning the pigeon shooter, "Ready when you are."

"Does anyone mind if I alternate weapons to practice with multiple weapons?" Jason asked hoping that he could could change the Vortex scope he currently had mounted to the GAP-10 to the EOTech Holographic in the case and also use his Glock.
