Prologue

Jade Ezell's House

Living Room...Jade is frustrated over the news reports about ACME's reputation...

Chief Max Wells: *on the tv screen* I believe the President of our country is doing great and as the new Chief of ACME we will insure to help by government with their permission of course.
News Reporter (male): *on the tv screen* Does the President know about this?
Chief Wells: *on the tv screen* Not yet, but I know it will work for local and national law enforcement of either ours or any other countries.
News Reporter (female): *on the tv screen* You don't understand, Chief Wells, ACME never ask permission from any country's own government.
Chief Wells: *on the tv screen* I'm sorry, ACME should of ask permission first beforehand and please leave before I call security on all of you from the press.

News Reporter (another female): This is a disaster for all of us, as ACME's new Chief want permissions granted from the government, has ACME gone mad? Would we ever see any proof of evidence?

Jade: *after stands up still frustrated over Chief Wells' remarkable decision to let ACME ask permission to the government first before and walk to her room* This is a rough time for me and other ACME agents who can't do nothing with him leading the wrong way...I hate him, it's worse than having a new property management taking over the house in which I have to follow for now on. *Her Padphone beeped and Jade saw the text message that said: go outside and meet me now...and no time to lose Jade puts her on her socks and shoes, grabs her purse, house keys and Padphone, there was Preston, the investigative journalist for Crime Net Gazette in his SUV at the parking lot*

Preston: Glad you're here, Jade, let's head for Literary Haven immediately.
Jade: *as she enters Preston's SUV* I hope there's evidence of what happened.
Preston: *as he starts driving* There sure is...and it deals of what happened around Pennsylvania.
Jade: I know and I believe, Lee Jordan's history, right?
Preston: You'll have to find out when we get there.

[Jade]

Chapter One

Literary Haven (Remember Thanksgiving Blues)

'Private Room'

*Jade knocks on the door after she and Preston arrived*

Eliza: *voice only* Who is it?
Jade: It's me, Jade!
Eliza: *voice only* Oh, good, I'm glad it's you, Jade and not that Chief Wells, are you alone?
Jade: No, Preston is with me. *As Eliza opens the door and sees Jade and Preston*
Eliza: Thank goodness you show up...*to Arthur Chance quietly* she's here!
Arthur: *quietly* Thank you, ma'am! *As Eliza leaves, Jade and Preston came in*
Jade: *quietly* Arthur, I'm glad you're okay, I was hoping...
Arthur: *quietly* Agent Sterling is fine, he got out of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in time.
Jade: *quietly* Right now, I'm frustrated over him [Chief Wells] and everything else.
Arthur: *quietly* Don't blame the government and some new laws that make people gone very crazy.

Preston: *quietly* It's true, even my editor-in-chief is not impressed.
Arthur: *quietly* In fact nobody is...however, I've got something for you.
Jade: *quietly* What is it?

Arthur: *quietly* Allow me *as he starts up his laptop computer and put in his password*
Chase Devineaux: *voice only* Jade Ezell, are you there?
Jade: Yes, I'm here...*gasped* Chase Devineaux, where in the world are you?
Chase: *voice only* I cannot tell you where I am, I'm just wanted to inform about what happened with our colleagues, including Commander Ivy Monaghan, her brother, Detective Zachary Monaghan and of course, Detective Lee Jordan.

Jade: *gasped after she sits down on the chair* Chase, I'm afraid Lee's history after what happened in Pennsylvania.
Chase: *voice only* You're afraid Jordan's history from that jailbreak blast? *Jade nodded her head yes*
Jade, I don't think Jordan's history in fact we don't know but I do have a footage from an informant who was working as a prison guard there in Smithfield Township, Jordan along with his cellmate, Steven Combs were there at that time.

Jade: Who is Steven Combs?
Chase: *voice only* Let's just say he was an innocent man being of robbing his father away other than that his father didn't want him to succeed his company.
Jade: What of a company his father running?
Chase: *voice only* A sporting goods company according to the police, but there was suspicion Mr. Combs run some illegal hunting big games for his 'sponsors' around the world and rigging sporting games to make him rich to pay off his debts.

Jade: And he blames his son for it.
Chase: *voice only* Exactly, after he passed away his assistant took over the company and stills run his illegal business.
Jade: What is his assistant's name?
Chase: *voice only* Chad, we don't anything from him, however, we don't have any information from him except his father's lawyer wants to keep his son in prison forever.
Jade: That's not right, Chase.
Chase: *voice only* I say so, Jade, so enjoy this footage all will be revealed to you. *Preston's cellphone rings*
Preston: I've better answer this call, Jade.
Jade: Go right ahead, Preston! *As Preston goes out the door, while Jade watches the footage of what happened in Pennsylvania*

State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon in Smithfield Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, USA

Cellblock 10

Lee: *to Steven* I'm glad you're about to be outer here.
Steven: Yeah, again there wasn't any evidence against me, it's my father's fault he put in this place.
Lee: Then it should've been your father in prison, not you.
Steven: He blames me for being 'too nice' for nothing and now, his assistant and what's worse, Linda, my obnoxious socialist ex-wife are happy they took over my father's company, and his 'business' continues to boom without finding out from the press.

*All of the sudden a bomb blast from one of the prison cells and the alarm went off*
Steven: *shouted for a prison guard* JAILBREAK!!! JAILBREAK!!! *Until a prisoner came to the cellblock with a remote control he gasped*
Prisoner: Sorry you two but you're not invited.
Lee: What do you...*and surprise without finishing his sentence the prisoner press the button, and the screen has gone white*

Jade: *as Preston came back* Oh no, Lee!
Preston: Did I miss something?
Jade: You sure did, Preston, it was a jailbreak and somehow a bomb detonated and I don't know if Lee and his cellmate [Steven Combs] made it out okay from that blast.
Chase: *voice only* At least Jordan didn't escape, somehow that was it from the prison guard there, I'm keep you posted on Jordan and Combs' whereabouts.

Jade: Thank you, Chase!
Chase: *voice only* And you head home and don't tell no one about what you saw.
Jade: Understood, Chase!
Chase: I will get any information from Commander or Detective Monaghan soon, Preston, if you please.
Preston: Yes, sir! *As Jade stands up from the chair*
Jade: Thank you, Arthur for coming!
Arthur: You're welcome, I'd better go, Preston, I hope that isn't Chief Wells on your cellphone.
Preston: That's my editor-in-chief on the phone. *As he and Jade leave the 'Private Room'*

Chapter Two

Jade's House

*After Preston drop Jade off...Jade checks the mail mostly some for her friends at her house like medical bills not being paid, unlocks her door back to her room, puts back her house shoes on*

The Den

Jade's Mind: *Jade uses the house computer to check if she has any e-mail messages* I can't believe Lee didn't escape; I wonder what's going on there? *Jade gasped as she saw something from an anonymous user that said, 'Don't bother finding no one because no one will help you.'

Jade's Mind: At this moment there's going to be a lot more of consequences than chance of stopping evil if all of ACME are in the stand still no thanks to Chief Wells and whoever wrote it is going to be the worse humiliation in my entire life. *Jade is downcast sweat on her sad face*

The Next Day...

Jade's House

*After her mother drops off Sam and Socks to Jade*

(Remember cats don't talk but their own mind does)

Socks' Mind: This stinks, brother!
Sam's mind: What is it, Socks?
Socks' mind: Boy, I hate when Jade didn't go on an adventure.
Sam's mind: Not since that new Chief of ACME ruining her life and change all the rules by getting permission from the government against very dangerous criminals and right now everything is worse than the litterbox being stench up the whole time.

*Socks' face is sad and with downcast sweat when the doorbell rings and Jade answered by looking at the peephole and opens the door there was a male nurse for one of her friends*


Sam's mind: At least she went one time helping out with Mario, Scooby-Doo and Casper without anyone notice. [Remember Jade's Valentine Surprise]

*Then another doorbell rings and Jade open the door there was Preston*

Preston: Hey, Jade and oh my, who do we have here?
Jade: Preston, these are my cats, Sam and Socks!
Preston: Are they yours?
Jade: Not really, Preston, but my mother took care of them because there's no room for a litterbox, they're just here for a visit.
Preston: *raising his eyebrows* Really?
Jade: *with downcast sweat on her face* Oh okay, they always come with me sometimes helping me and ACME out.
Preston: Cats can be curious all the time, and sometimes the cat distribution system can make a cat pick a person did you ever heard of that?

Jade: All the time while watching cats and kittens on The Dodo channel on YouTube.
Preston: Yeah, some cats could end up travelling the world, live at a good home or even help out in medical or even can help the law enforcements.
Jade: All true, Preston!

Preston: Well, Jade, I'm glad you're here and did you the message yesterday.
Jade: I did and I'm disappointed of the message.
Preston: What does the message say?
Jade: Don't bother finding no one because no one will help you.
*Preston frown with an expressionless face*
Jade: Who would send that message and why?
Preston: That I can't figure it out, however, we're going to Mocha Tabby.
Jade: Just let me get everything ready including you two furballs [Sam and Socks].

Preston: Oh, good, I remember Mocha Tabby is a good place here for coffee and cats.
Jade: Why Mocha Tabby?
Preston: Eliza told me to go there instead of Literary Haven due to some renovations on the 'Private Room'
Jade: Figures!

Before I'm start with Chapter Three, I forgot the mention the description of Lee's cellmate, Steven Combs:

Male, sort like the late John Ritter in Problem Child and Problem Child 2 as Ben Healy, adoptive father of Junior except Steven doesn't raise a problem child well...you'll find out in Chapter Three.

Chapter Three

Mocha Tabby (Remember A Totally Weird Caper)

Barista (Female): *voice only* No, really!
Old Female Customer: *voice only* It's true, dear, it just so happened already.
Barista (Female): *voice only* Great, my parents are about go on a cruise to the Bahamas, I hope it doesn't happen to them. *As Jade, Preston along with Sam and Socks enters the Mocha Tabby the female barista is a red-haired, hazel-eyed* Oh, hey, Jade.
Jade: Am I interrupting something?

Barista: (Female): Just talking with this customer [Female, in her 50s, gray hair, blue eyes] about that cruise ship outbreak of some disease.

Jade: Yeah, I heard about that disease, it already mentioned last year when someone suffers from that disease in New Mexico.
Barista (Female): Oh my!
Old Female Customer: She's right *to Jade as the female barista hands the old female customer her drink* and I hope they got a vaccine to prevented us from that disease just like what happened almost six years ago. *The old female customer left with her drink*

Jade: Let's hope so, I've better not cut in line we're just looking for a friend here


Barista (Female): Good and I'm glad you brought your furballs I hope they've got vaccine.
Jade: They just did, a month ago.

Preston: *to Barista (Female)* I hope you can make a good espresso.
Barista (Female): Of course, and if you both excuse me, I've got to finished with the customers here.

*As Jade places Sam and Socks in the cat room to watch out for mice and bugs and making sure those two don't get in trouble with the other cats and kittens waiting to be adopted*

Jade: *to Preston* Say, where's Arthur? He told us to meet him here.
Server (Male, auburn hair and hazel eyes): Psst...*quietly after he came to Jade* Follow me, you two! *As she and Preston follow the server to a 'private room' without notice two strange men coming in knocked quietly on the door...quietly* Mocha latte and espresso! *The door opened and Jade and Preston enter the 'private room'*

'Private Room'

Jade: *quietly* Good to see you again, Arthur, what's going on?
Arthur: *quietly as Jade quietly closes the door* Nothing much except for a crowd and something tells me we're being 'tailed' by Chief Wells' 'agents'
Preston: *quietly* No telling who's who, Chance.
Arthur: *quietly* That's why this 'private room' is soundproof, so they won't hear any of our conservation with Ivy and Zack Monaghan over in San Francisco.

Jade: *quietly* Before we get to them let's make sure this room is not bugged in. *Using her Padphone to detect any bug transmitter and found none* Okay, Arthur! *As Arthur use his laptop computer with his password and there was Ivy and her brother, Zack in San Francisco at Child Protection Service Agency on Mission Street*

Ivy: *on screen along with Zack* Jade, we're glad to see you.
Jade: I heard what happened to the both of you.
Zack: *on screen* Yeah, that new Chief is really nuts he thinks ACME should get a permission from the Government to catch crooks like Carmen Sandiego.

Jade: More likely dangerous criminals, Zack.
Ivy: *on screen* I'm afraid we can't give any more details, Jade.
Zack: *on screen as a gray-haired man and a dark auburn haired, brown-eyed woman* But these two will. *As he and Ivy leaves*

Simon Watson: *on screen* Why, hello, Detective Chance and this must a friend to Zack and Ivy.
Arthur: Yes, Dr. Watson, this is Jade Ezell.
Jade: Hello, Dr, Watson and her?
Lisa Macintosh: *on screen* Hi, Jade, my name is Lisa Macintosh, I'm with the Child Protection Services,
Jade: No wonder Zack and Ivy won't give me any information of what's going on.

Dr. Watson: *on screen* Well, Miss Jade, I'm a child psychologist and we're here to tell you about two children named Cory and Emmy.

[Simon Watson is based on two IBM products: a personal communicator (Simon) and a computer system that beat Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter on Jeopardy! In 2008 (Watson), Lisa Macintosh is based on two Apple products: a desktop computer from 1983 to 1986 (Lisa) and personal computer brand since 1984 (Macintosh) and no I don't own IBM, Apple and the game show Jeopardy! Whatsoever]


Lisa: *on screen* All we know about these children is that they have a hard life...Cory well, he doesn't know what happened to his real mother, but his stepfather neglected him before he died and he has a stepbrother too.
Dr. Watson: *on screen* We've found about Cory through the orphanage he was in along with his stepbrother named Erick...who is very neglectful to couples who were about to adopt Cory the head of the orphanage separate Cory and Erick...Erick ends up in several foster homes and sent back to the orphanage due to his bad behavior and then Erick wind up in a Juvenile Detention Center in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

*Jade gasped*

Dr. Watson: *on screen* Is there something wrong?
Jade: No, but was the state of Pennsylvania sounds familiar but in the different area, does the name 'Steven Combs' ring a bell?
Lisa: *on screen* I don't think so, Jade, why?
Jade: I remember something about what happened to him in Smithfield Township after his father blames him [Steven] for his father's crimes and something about his ex-wife and his father's assistant taking over the business after the man passed away.

Lisa: *on screen* Not that we know of.
Jade: Perhaps, Cory knows him.
Dr. Watson: *on screen* I don't know the rest of the information, but we both know that Cory is endangered from Erick.
Lisa: *on screen* And CPS is searching for more information about Erick secretly.

Jade: And what about Emmy, what's her background story?
Dr. Watson: Emmy is a sweet girl but almost a victim of Munchausen by Proxy if haven't been for an annoying rich couple's butler named Winston who contacted CPS about what the couple did to her.

Jade: And the couple?
Dr. Watson: *on screen* Let's just say they falsely her profile for paying their debts under charities for mental-ill children.
Jade: Do you both find out the truth?
Lisa: *on screen* Like Dr. Watson said, Winston informs us everything.
Jade: Where can I find Winston?
Dr. Watson: *on screen* We don't know, Miss Jade, he just disappeared. *Until someone breaks the door down Jade gasped and saw the two men holding Sam and Socks hostage, there come Chief Wells with his facemask and gloves on*

Chief Wells: *to Jade, Arthur and Preston* And you all won't find out anymore.
Arthur: Wells, what are you doing here?

Dr. Watson: *on screen* Sorry, everyone, better log off. *And the screen is black*
Jade: How did your men listen to our conservation this room is soundproof.

Chief Wells: Simple, my men listen to a cordless transmitter without 'bugging' *Jade gasped* And another thing I hate cats, I'm afraid of them and of course I'm allergic to them. *He snapped his fingers the police officers came in* Take them away and these furballs to the animal control...*Jade, Arthur and Preston gasped*

Chapter Four

Mocha Tabby

Sergeant Shelby: *voice only* What's going on here? *The two police officers came and gasped when they saw Sergeant Shelby, an African American female in her 30s, black hair and brown eyes show up*

Chief Wells: Oh great, Sergeant Shelby, I was telling your officers to arrest these so-called ACME agents for not getting any permission from the Government.
Sergeant Shelby: You're being such an idiot, Wells, here I am going for coffee and what's going on? You always get in ACME's ways.

Chief Wells: Sergeant, I am the Chief of ACME and I'm changing everything here whether everyone likes it or not and I'm not going to let you...

Sergeant Shelby: *interrupted* I don't care what're you doing but you cannot arrest someone in front of the store and gentlemen [in whom holding Sam and Socks hostage] put those cats back where they belong.

Chief Wells: Fine, *to the two gentlemen* boys, put the furballs back. *The two gentlemen put Sam and Socks back to the cat room*

Sergeant Shelby: And Officers, don't arrest these people [Jade, Arthur and Preston] *As one of the officers is about to talk* Never follow orders from a man [Chief Wells] who doesn't know about not having permissions from the Government. *To Chief Wells* Watch out, Chief Wells, sooner or later you'll understand, I have friends who are ACME agents and they'll come back to teach you, a lesson. *Chief Wells leaves in anger along with the two gentlemen*

*Customers were all relieve that the drama is over*

Sergeant Shelby: *to Jade* You're, okay?
Jade: Yes, thanks, Sergeant Shelby.
Sergeant Shelby: What is going on here?
Arthur: We're about to find out about two kids around San Francisco from Dr. Watson.

Preston: But these guys butted our conservation, no thanks to Chief Wells.
Jade: So far as we concern, Sergeant, he takes over ACME with a lot of changes.

Sergeant Shelby: I was afraid of this; I've got a call from Sergeant Harve over around L.A. and it's a disaster no ACME agent ever came to help him due to the changes of Chief Wells.

Preston: All we can say is, Chief Wells has a complicated foolish life.
Jade: And everything about him is shocking.

Sergeant Shelby: As soon as I get my coffee we're going back to the police station together and Jade, bring your cats over the exterminator didn't show up to get rid of the bugs and mice.
Jade: You got it, Shelby!

Sergeant Shelby: Because Jade, we have someone who needs some help about...well, it's not complicated but suffering some middle-child syndrome.

Jade: Was the kid falsely arrested?
Sergeant Shelby: In the way, yes, Jade, I was hoping you can help us, I wish it would have been Chase Devineaux.
