Huh, I wonder why they've been hammering that 1.5:1 ratio of class time to homework time.

I never did buy into it anyways.

But picking up a language wouldn't be a bad thing.

Always good to pick something up. It's also great, while you're learning a new language in a foreign country and you go from no-understanding to some-understanding. (I like that high, especially, when my listening comprehension improves.)

(I need to get back on the bandwagon of learning french. I dropped off when real life circumstances shifted around.)

I'd start with podcasts, that's always easiest because things like duolingo don't always provide you with phonetics.))
