In the 60s, someone told me we used to launch weather balloons from the roof of the old building. It only had 20 or so floors back then, but it was high for the time.

Have you seen the automated weather balloon launch systems NOAA's been deploying?

Yeah, I remember reading about that. Sometime in May last year, I think. With the number of weather balloons required for the predictive grid, I'm surprised it wasn't automated sooner.
