Unfortunately it does, especially with our continued economic slump.))

And we've always had issues with violent crime in places off the road system.))

Violent crimes are more outside of the cities than inside it?))

I wouldn't say violent crime is higher outside the city than inside, but there's higher occurrences than what you'd find in small towns in the lower 48's.))

Despairingly, sexual assault makes up a large portion of that violent crime.))

Curious, but -- Did it increase after oil prices went down?))

 

[Eugene]

Yep.

 

[Chase]

I wonder how much of these reports are actually masking a bigger crisis. Something like Venezuela.

 

[Eugene]

That particular report, I wouldn't know. But the oil downturn had a very real impact here.

 

[Chase]

It's still Alaska's largest industry, looks like. Oil, tourism, and fishing.
