Okay got a question.....we know about Paul Revere, he was captured and someone had to finish the ride for him. Plus other men helped him. It really makes me angry Sybil Ludington gets no mention or credit. She rode further that Revere. Why?

Because of the Longfellow poem, I expect. During his life, he was recognized more for his business and social connections than the ride. There is also the fact that "Paul Revere" is the sort of name a romantic hero would have, like Jonathan Harker, or Inigo Montoya, or Chase Devineaux. It came ready-made to be shaped into American legend.

That's a good response. I was hoping that @Jacqueline Hyde the librarian would have some to say about this. and LOL at romantic heroes like "Chase Devineaux".

popularized by a Twitter account in 2010. It is named after the misunderstood giant in the 2003 film Big Fish. Older or alternative terms used locally include simply "the fog" or sometimes "Big Mama", Seasonal Names: It is often associated with the terms "June Gloom" or "Fogust" due to its prevalence in the summer months.

Did you know....the horns on the viking's helmets are a myth? The popular image of the "horned Viking" can be traced back to the 1870s. Costume designer Carl Emil Doepler created horned helmets for Richard Wagner’s opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen to enhance the characters' theatrical presence. (I BELIEVE in the Where in Time game, they tell us this too....)
