[Neb]

Neb is 5 feet tall, about 7 stone, and looks completely, totally normal, except having grey hair and a face full of scars. She showed up at a VILE safe house when she was roughly 13, unable to talk, emotionally stunted, with no memory of who she was, and just sorta...stayed. She was named Kid Kidman by Patty, and became a cheerful grunt mechanic that kept Carmen's many vehicles in order, until one day something disturbing happened. She wasn't quite right after that.

Afraid of what she might be and what it could mean for her, Kidman pulled away from the group, until one day Carmen called her back into the fold. It didn't go well. Kidman returned to training, sorta, and met Flag briefly, but this was cut short by the tower heist, which she had tried, too late, to object to.

Bad stuff happened and Kidman took part in damage control. It wasn't a good time. In a desperate attempt to get help finding Carmen, Kidman gave herself to ACME to secure a deal. She didn't like that either, but she met Chase, and he was neat. She also met Rosen, who is not neat.

Reunited with VILE, Kidman went to Kamchatka, where she lost her mind after thinking Carmen blew up. Concerned, Carmen had Flag take her under his catlike wing for training. Which went as well as one would expect. Still she'd grown feelings for him, somehow.

Because of her involvement in Flag's ritual, when time reset, Kidman did eventually come to remember her last life and actively sought to change it. She stayed in the fold, finished her training, and re-dubbed herself Neb (Nebuchadnezzar) Ullyss, as she generally felt nebulous.

But soon she went drifting again, fearful of getting too attached to Carmen after what happened the last time. Eventually she runs into Flag again, who she thought was dead, and they catch up. Neb tells Flag her new goal and asks for help. Flag is down for it. So is Joe.

They raid Bran Brychanson's house of horrors to get some things, but Neb almost dies and ends up in the hospital, where Joe and Flag look in on her. Neb realizes she's too attached the Flag, which is a bad thing, and goes to take off again, when Carmen asks her not to. She then gives Neb the job of keeping track of the most untrackable person Earth. They go to a festival in China, and nothing bad happens after that.

Neb is Carmen's shadow, has a messed up past in a Russian lab that she doesn't remember, and is micro-bio-psychokinetic (can manipulate living matter with her mind, mainly for healing. Mainly).

Neb, then Kidman, heard everything from normal accounts to fantastical, most of which were towards the fantastical end. It may have been starry-eyed devotion on behalf of the crew she was with, or just the want to entertain and comfort a messed up kid, but stuff about Carmen generally went like:

"Carmen could steal the moon if she wanted to"
"Carmen wears red because it would be an unfair match if cops couldn't see her"
"Carmen can speak every language in the world."
"Carmen secretly runs the world"
"Carmen is made of magic."

As for how many of them were true?

Carmen could probably find a way to steal the moon, but there'd be no where to put it.
Carmen does wear red for psychological reasons.
Carmen could probably learn every language in the world if she had enough time.
Carmen probably does secretly run a good chunk of the world.
Carmen is indeed made of magic.

That said, certain issues have kept Kidneb from knowing Carmen as an actual person, something that is in the process of being remedied.

How/why did Neb choose her name?

This journal entry sets up the premise pretty well, but Kidman's appearance, her lack of past, and her situation had already made her feel like a pile of unanswerable questions. After the time reset, she felt even more disconnected because no one else remembered it, and the one person who might have (Flag), and who she was able to identify with, was missing. Unable to relate to other people, she drifted out on her own, a nebulous cloud unable to solidify.

Since Neb remembers both timelines, what is her opinion of Chase before and after the timeloop? Does she remember what he did for us in the first time loop, and does she think he's still capable of doing that after seeing what he's done so far in Ultramarine?

Aye she totally remembers, and alluded to feeling guilty about not being there when his apartment got blown up when she finally meets him after the sub crash in Ultramarine. Neb will always be grateful to Chase for everything he did the first, and probably the second time around.

Also, due to his reaction to anything Carmen, and Carmen's reaction to anything Chase, she's also vaguely suspicious that the relationship between the two may still be strong, although she doesn't know in what form.

Does she think he's still capable of being a friend of VILE? Absolutely.

In Ultramarine, like, right now, Neb is just discovering that she doesn't actually know Carmen as a person. What would be the first thing Neb does to get to know Carmen? It doesn't even need to fit into the RPs, I just want to know what Neb would ideally do.
