This is as unchanged as I could make it, errors and horrible (lack of) paragraph spacing and grammar and tense usage (The only thing I really changed was to include returns throughout it... the original printout was written with no double spacing between sentences and no end-of-line returns. Word caught a few spelling errors and fixed them, so it's not 100% identical.)
The night was cold and stormy. All of a sudden, the door flew open and a dark figure entered the room and announced her name,
“I am Carmen Sandiego!” She said. But, I don’t remember anything that happened after that.
Hi, I’m Zack. I work for the Acme Detective agency. I really hate that Carmen Sandiego. That day my sister Ivy and I were challenging each other to a game of Pogs. Then the chief comes into the room and interrupts our little game that I was winning.
“Our new detective is missing from his room.” He said with his deep rumbly voice.
“I swear if Carmen did this I promise!” Ivy said.
“Chief, can’t we finish our game then chase Carmen?” I asked. The chief just turned and walked out the door.
“Ivy, remember how I became a detective?” I asked Ivy.
“Know what, I really don’t!” Ivy said.
“Well, one night I was at home alone. When all of a sudden the door slowly opened and a dark figure entered and announced her name. “I am Carmen Sandiego! She said. But, I don’t remember anything else after that!” I finished. Then the Carmen alarm went off. The Carmen alarm is an alarm that goes off when Carmen is loose. So we’re flying to New York looking for Carmen Sandiego. Once at the airport Ivy and I see someone wearing all red and a hat that casts a shadow over her eyes.
“Say, isn’t that Carmen Sandiego?” I asked Ivy.
“I… I… I believe it is!” Ivy stuttered. We snuck up behind her and listen in to her conversation.
“We must keep looking for Ivy and Zack, and when we do if a guard asks us what we’re doing just say that they’re spys!” Carmen finished. Just then she turned around and saw us running away and shouted, “It’s Zack and Ivy, they’re spys! Stop them!” Carmen shouted and her henchmen chasing us around the airport for awhile. Now theres ten henchmen and ten airport guards chasing us around. They try and try to catch us but they miss every time.
“You’ll never catch us Carmen!” I shouted.
“Ohhh… no?” Carmen asked.
“Now run and hide behind that soda machine so Carmen will never find us and when they pass us we run for it!” I instructed. Now I write from behind the soda machine. Carmen just bought a soda pop.
“Where the heck did Zack and Ivy?” Carmen asked her henchmen.
“Duh… we don’t know Carrie!” They replied.
“That’s Carmen you numbskulls!” Carmen yelled at them. Then they walked away and so did we. But I’m kidnapped by Carmen. I heard Carmen say “We will steal the Statue of Liberty at midnight.” So I call the chief and tell him of Carmen’s plan. And of course I ask him to C5 me out of here. He did so.
“Thanks for getting me out of there!” I tell the chief.
“Wait, where’s Ivy? Wasn’t she with you at the airport?” The chief asked.
“Send me to the airport!” I instructed. When I got there, I searched for her but to no avail. I find her communicator watch but no Ivy.
“Ivy, where are you!” I ask. Finally I figured it out. “Uh-oh!” I say out loud.
“Chief, C5 me to Carmen’s hideout on the outskirts of town!” I ordered.
“Oky-dokey!” The chief answered. Now I write to you from out side Carmen’s hideout.
“Now we must steal the Statue of Liberty from New York!” She ordered her henchmen.
“Duh, sure thing Carrie!” Her henchmen answered.
“That’s Carmen you idiotic numbskulls!” Carmen yelled. Ivy’s face was bright red under the heat of a powerful spotlight. She mouthed the words, ‘Stay low Zack’. And I did. Carmen’s henchmen were named :Moe, Larry, and Curly.
“Moe, you operate the lift controls. Larry, you operate the helicopter. And Curly you operate the hook and cable.” Carmen said. “And don’t call me Carrie!” She yelled.
“Duh sure thing Carmen!” They said.
“Now you’ve got it!” Carmen exclaimed. They got ahold of a Mil Mi-26 chopper and tried to steal the statue but to no success. They get two more choppers and lift the statue from it’s base. They take it to Carrie… I mean Carmen’s hideout and sit it in her front yard.
And there it sits for 20 years. But New York has a flood and Carmen’s hideout is covered with water. And this is how Liberty Island came to be. Nobody ever moved the from it’s spot.
And nobody knows where in the U.S.A Carmen is.
