Maybe a sports-style side RP?

What sport or sports would anyone like to see played (on here, as it were) as an RP?

  • Baseball

  • US football

  • Soccer

  • Archery

  • Bowling

  • Volleyball

  • Golf

  • Ham radio contesting

  • Rogaining (large-scale orienteering)

  • Martial Arts

Would anyone be interested in an on-going or seasonal sports-themed (or just have the RP just be the sports event) RP?
I'm thinking anyone could be involved, more would be better (figure ideally enough for a good baseball or football game, though that's not set in stone).
The choices are not limited to just US summer sports or winter Canadian or anything... I've included a few foreign sports where I could in the survey, but I know there's more out there than what I have listed.
Maybe both sides could start something like this, and like end-of-year or end of that sport's season or some set timeframe, both sides could hold a truce and do a championship game someplace for a prize (trophy, money, bragging rights, maybe on a future caper give one or the other an extra head start if that would even work)... just some ideas.

If you have any other ideas for sports or how this could be done better... go ahead and post them.

This could be both a filler between RPs, and a way to get some experience RPing, and give new members who join after an RP starts something to get the hang of it.

Interesting idea. Are you thinking of having a single game master, teams of people, or some form of structure?

I'm thinking, work it like a regular RP, maybe each side could tackle a sport/game on their own, and this would be when there wasn't something else going on (individual story posts would be fine).
For each side (assuming VILE would want to do this), I'm imagining this as basically a text-based voluntary school sport... everyone who wants can play, divide into two teams, one person as Captain/coach/referee, and there can be regular RP-stuff (discussions about who wants to be on what team, usual dialogue, strategic planning, things like that).
I don't really think there would be too much real structure (like an inning a week or something), mainly just the standard rules for whatever sport is chosen (figure that would just fall to majority or popular vote). And, if a case starts up while a game is going, no problem to interrupt the game and pick it up later (probably with references in both).

I don't know if having both sides truced and participating would work or not... just an idea there.
Maybe this could jumpstart work on a big RP or something equally big.

I like this sports style Role Played idea of yours,Jonny...here are my favorite sports in emoji form and description from me.
1.? (what else)
2.? (softball throw)
3.? (as in shoot the ball into the basket)
4. ? (Archery) or do some ? fetching to a ? in a ? mode.
& 5. Squash (not the gourd type veggie but a sport in which there's no emoji for it)

Otherwise we might play against VILE in chess or ????? (Yahtzee)
And whatever we do nobody cheats, play fair and be a good sport no matter what game we play.

Hey @Tenchi Masaki btw I did save my password after my last bout of computer trouble. This time however I saved the wrong password so. As for Jon Eckart, I DO use Chrome browser the problem is when we I get on another computer the passwords aren't stored. That's my current problem. So I'm either gonna make a new account or figure something out 'cause I'm not bothering boss man :D :D

((IRL: @Lucy2... You may have to just start a new account (if the system lets you)... we don't know who all has admin access, so 'password recover emails' might not get seen or dealt with. If you do, I'd suggest a new account, and a series of posts linking to the old account. Keep in mind, we're in Minnesota, so cold is a thing... if you wanna trade, we're open to place tickets! We can't really do anything until we hear from the appeal guy... anytime between the 19th and December 5th, so in theory move-out could be end of December (unless it gets here before the end of this month) or maybe they can stay... no idea. So, the other place door... that's what we'd have to fit everything through.))
