Nina ducked around the breaking glass that looked like it was just the beginning. The officers with her pushed her back instinctively probably because she was the only one without a gun. The second suspect roared and proved beyond a doubt that she wasn't human. Some of the officers were aiming to fire.

"Don't shoot," Nina reminded, "Don't--" More glass broke and Vic's car screeched past, the moving hood of its trunk 'laughing' away into the night.

As the fight continued, and officers saw more of their own being injured, they started to defend themselves, firing tasers at the girl. Nina couldn't help thinking they were risking their lives for no reason here. Like Agent Hobbes, most of them had families and the case was only about a stolen bronze statue.

Whatever this was... this thing that roared... had just made VILE dangerous. West didn't want hers to be the one incident that changed everything. If an officer were fatally injured, the next VILE case could have a 'shoot to kill' order.

"Let her go!" Nina yelled out, "Forget it! Let her go, and start calling medics!"

[Hobbes]

Hobbes did not react to Nina West's snap appearance or when Dragon sending Officer Laurent sprawling onto the asphalt, but as Vic got the Buick rolling away, he realized the plan had gone sour. Wincing at this knowledge, Hobbes slunk over to Agent West and the remaining police, glancing back at Dragon with a hiss of frustration.

"I saw your face!" He snarled. "I know who you are! Believe me; I WILL FIND YOU!" Sighing, Hobbes removed his glasses and glanced apprehensively to Nina. "Agent West, I can't tell you how sorry I am for this mess. I never thought they'd escape. Is there any way we can stop them now?" He glanced over with concern to where Officer Laurent lay sprawled on the asphalt.

fun facts: Quokkas naturally look like they’re smiling because of the shape of their mouths. The internet adopted them as “the happiest animal,” though in reality they’re just little nocturnal marshmallow creatures trying to survive like everything else.

Very good derek but this one surprised me: I wore armor, heard visions, and terrified experienced soldiers while still a teenager.

Edited because the answer was wrong and needs rewording: I am one of the great world cities that sits near major fault lines. Cats roam my ancient ruins. Empires fought endlessly over me because I connected continents. Where am I?”

Why do we say "Excuse my French" when about to swear. When something crappy happens why do we ask "If we're having fun yet." and "Why do we say "For pete's sake" are these all just American phrases?

This is becoming a fun rabbit hole....the alphabet has been rearranged a few times. "A" came from a Phoenician symbol that originally represented an ox's head. "B" came from a symbol meaning "house." The names Alpha and Beta evolved from Aleph and Beth. ...

I was out today minding my own business at a restaurant when I over heard someone at a table near me say this "The United States is the oldest country in the world." I was thinking...It can't be. At least the "United Kingdom" was around before we came to the new world.
