Pitya Ivyr
K-9 Unit Manager and Trainer ACME
March 2017
It was a normal morning. The sun shining as I got out of bed. It had been a few years now since my mother had passed away and I had dedicated myself solely to training and taking care of dogs for ACME. I had two so far, Zienna and my Xena. My two partners I had bonded with during my time volunteering before I Joined ACME. It was supposed to be a relax day. Simple, and easy-going. Until the phone rang. I quickly answered it only to quickly go get ready.
I slipped on a jacket over my outfit, placing a hood on before heading out the door. Ebony hair pulled into a loose bun. Wisps floating about my face gently as I hurried to go to the address sent. It had appeared there was a special case of someone keeping wolf-dogs illegally, and one was in horrible shape. My coat was pulled tight as I rushed to the scene. Zienna accompanied me and loped alongside with her long legs. Her long ebony fur drenched just as quickly as I was. The whole place was under investigation and i flashed my badge at them. Stating I was Ivyr, the current ACME K-9 manager and trainer.
As soon as I entered the backyard, my blue eyes widened. It was horrible. The cages… the blood I could see staining the ground and the fence posts around the yard. I quickly saw a group huddled about a body… and brushed by them. Gasping at what I saw. A young wolf-dog, her fur ebony and silver tipped, luxurious surely under the blood that stained it. I knelt and quickly brushed my hand through the fur and shook my head. I was worried she wouldn’t make it.
As quick as I could I managed to shout at someone to bring me a blanket and bundled the wolf-dog up. I staggered to my feet and an officer kindly offered me, Zienna, and our new passenger a ride home. I had taken off my jacket and used that to cover the face, hoping it would help calm the young one if she were to awaken. Something told me I was going to be late into work the next day. I got out and thanked the officer profusely before entering my home. Xena awoke slowly as the door closed and she rushed over only to see my hands full and as always was curious. I simply pushed my two back and laid the bundle on the dog bed.
Her injuries consisted of many raw and open wounds. Gashes, and raw infected cuts along her body worried me. This pup would not live to see the morning. I was positive of that. After a long gruelling night of taking care of those wounds, I fell asleep beside the injured wolf-dog. My fingers laced into her coat… and morning came quickly that day.
I awoke slowly, worried I would find a dead dog on my hands. As my eyes opened, they were met with a stunning two-toned gaze. One amber and one piercing blue orb gazed at me curiously. As I got up, I noticed the wolf-dog tried to follow me everywhere I went. It was already 10 am, I was definitely going to be late to work. I could not lose any job or any position I had. It was all I had to make a living off of. However, as soon as I locked the door, the howling began.
A low, sorrowful howl which cut straight to my heart. Instantly I knew it was my new house guest. I unlocked the door to find the wolf-dog staring at me with wide eyes, her whines getting to me. I picked up the dog and sighed, gently wrapping her in my coat as I left to head to work. I was so going to be late…. Though i wondered what reactions I would get with the little…. Devil with me. Her fur was gorgeous though, luxurious ebony with silver tips that no longer were stained and matted with crimson. I had to think of a name… it was obvious she was attached to me. Haru? Nah…. too guy-like. Faline…. Hmmm nope. Just didn’t seem to fit. I spoke the next option aloud...Hikari. When those two-toned orbs gazed at me in adoration I knew then her name was Hikari. The story and adventures between the two of us however, was just getting started.
