In celebration of March (and Saint Patrick's Day in particular) we have a character question about luck.

What does luck mean to your character? Do they consider themselves lucky or unlucky? Is there a specific incident that defines that for them?

For Ivy: She considers herself very lucky, and while not very religious she always feels that there is something looking out for her. This could be due to being able to get things done at just the right time on cases. However, she's also into horoscopes and believes that when bad luck is out for you, you better stay safe.

Hello Ivy. Hello everyone.

I have said on here many times that I feel very fortunate; I am very blessed to have many great things and people in my life; long before I was an ACME agent; and have met even more great people after I became an agent too.

My family has always had an interest in geneaeology (although I confess, I let the men in family, first my grandfather (mom's dad) and now my cousins and my uncles do all the hard work, since I never seem to be able to find any "new" info) and throughout the years, we have belonged to many different types of Christian churches, but in more current times, most of us are not affiliated with one particular church; and don't follow any strict observances.

The majority of of our ancestors are Danish, Scottish, and Irish. Does that make me more "lucky" than anyone else? I don't really know. I don't consider myself to be "superstitious." I know a lot of superstitions, of course; but I don't really believe in them (after all, one of my cats back home in Ohio is a big, black, boycat named Sammy. And we've had other black boycats, too; including one many years ago called Angus; another good Scottish/Irish name!! LOL!!). But I don't really challenge superstitions, either, because the way I see it, just because I don't believe in something, doesn't mean it's not so!! Better safe than sorry!! ;)

Being of Irish heritage, Deric does consider himself "lucky" to a degree. He also subscribes to the theory that "the harder you work, the luckier you become." Surviving all the scrapes he's been in makes Deric feel very lucky sometimes.

In both the Retro and 'Normal' timelines Nace considers himself a lucky man in every sense of the word ranging from the fact that he has a big family that he's close to, a job he enjoys, his dog, and a stable relationship.

Surviving various military missions also is another reason Nace considers himself a lucky person.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity. Luck can be made as much as it can be destroyed. It's nice when good, seemingly random, events come your way once in a while, but hedging, planning, and figuring out a course of action help expand areas of opportunity while leveraging curve balls.

I believe in luck. Though I don't think I'm particularly lucky.

There are some objects that can carry luck with them. You know... like a rabbit's foot? It's string theory, one thing will have an affect on another in minute details throughout the universe. But that doesn't mean the item is always lucky, it just means it's there at the right place at the right time.

Besides all that, I've survived crazy falls from the C-5 that I wouldn't have without a little bit of luck on my side.

popularized by a Twitter account in 2010. It is named after the misunderstood giant in the 2003 film Big Fish. Older or alternative terms used locally include simply "the fog" or sometimes "Big Mama", Seasonal Names: It is often associated with the terms "June Gloom" or "Fogust" due to its prevalence in the summer months.

Did you know....the horns on the viking's helmets are a myth? The popular image of the "horned Viking" can be traced back to the 1870s. Costume designer Carl Emil Doepler created horned helmets for Richard Wagner’s opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen to enhance the characters' theatrical presence. (I BELIEVE in the Where in Time game, they tell us this too....)
