Designing games for youth?

I overheard my husband watching this on Friday and kind of immediately thought of the Carmen Sandiego franchise of games. Am I wrong to think this? It's isn't a particularly nice association. :/

I thought the Carmen games easily hit the target age due to content alone which tied right in with a child's level of reading, geography or math. It's why they were used so widely in schools. I don't see anything that has the same kind of research or ability to pull children in these days, that gap in the market seems to be filled with things like angry birds.

Thanks for posting this... and making me feel old.

I didn't mean for that! :D

I just wanted to maybe get a discussion on this subject going. Possibly with the intent on finding good games for the runt. :p

popularized by a Twitter account in 2010. It is named after the misunderstood giant in the 2003 film Big Fish. Older or alternative terms used locally include simply "the fog" or sometimes "Big Mama", Seasonal Names: It is often associated with the terms "June Gloom" or "Fogust" due to its prevalence in the summer months.
