Might be because the strand of grapes they got. If it's a clone/related varietals... or probably indicator of sweetness.

I worked with Diageo for a while, if it's verifiable, it has to be called Muscat. Muscato is usually considered the label for a much sweeter wine. I'm wondering if the American naming convention uses this too.
