Press registrations end March 31. But if you're taking part in the Marche du Film, it's anytime. And for filmmakers, submissions' expired.

I don't suppose a photographer without an institution can register? A friend wants to cover it for her portfolio.

She'll need an agency behind her, or a publication, but only for the red carpet access. Beyond that, it's really a free-for-all.

If she really just needs a few shots of celebrities, the hotel everybody stays at is Hotel Martinez, and it's decently easy to get to.

I don't envy photographers, though. Best of luck to your friend getting a portfolio together.

It's a tough job. I have to send a few people to Cannes myself, this year for a client.
