I haven't been to Yemen itself, but I did go to Socotra. That little island in the Gulf of Aden off the tip of Somalia... dove off a dragon blood tree and into a mountain lake.

I had been to Sana'a some time ago, but only within the city.

And then I had somewhat 'vacationed' in Al Mukalla but it was a brief stop.

 

[Chase]

Not exactly a vacation town...

Hence, 'brief'.

While I was in Sana'a, I wanted to go see The Shaharah Bridge, but time did not permit.

It's a bit of a drive up to the bridge, and then somewhat of a hike too.

I've never been, but I have a friend who used to conduct tours there (now he's doing luxury 'glamping' in the Sahara).

 

[Carmen]

Is 'Glamping' decent business, then?

 

[Chase]

For the Instagram age? Yes.

You know... since neither of us have been to Sheharah...

Amidst unstable security tension and a cholera outbreak?
