In the macro sense, Hyde is the reason Jacqueline's ever in danger to begin with, as without her, Jacqueline would likely not be traveling and thieving.
In the micro sense, however, Hyde is more likely to keep Jacqueline out of danger. She has a tendency to frighten off people who might want to harm - or arrest - Jacqueline. And when Jacqueline’s fight-or-flight response is activated, Hyde is much better at both.
