A Spooky Mistake

(I don't own the characters: Dr. Gunnar Maelstrom and the ones Jade doesn't trust whatsoever...guest characters: Casper the Friendly Ghost, Wendy the Good Little Witch, Spooky the Tuff Little Ghost, the Ghostly Trio [Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso] and the ones at Maelstrom's welcoming party, well, I don't own them as well and yes, it is a Halloween story)

Part One

Jade Ezell's House

In the Kitchen (Halloween: Afternoon)

Jade's mind: *while Jade is preparing lunch* I don't know why ACME Japan gave me a small cellphone...or maybe there's a purpose for me later on while VICE begins with a rampage by getting rid of me and the other ACME agents.

*Doorbell rings as Jade turns off the stove and after looking at the peephole there was a girl in a dark dress with a broomstick and a little plush cat on her shoulder and a boy in a gray onesie jumpsuit*

Dora and Tai Yaki: *to Jade after she opened the door* Trick or Treat!
Jade: Hey you kids, I see you got nice costumes there.
Dora: Arigato [Thank you]! I'm dressing as Kiki the witch from Kiki's Delivery Service.
Tai: And I'm dressing as a Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro.
Tako Yaki: *as he came dressing as air pilot with a pig's nose and fake mustache on* Dora, Tai, I told you two to wait for me, oh hi, Jade.
Jade: Tako, and those two are with you.
Tako: Yes, they are, Dora, Tai this is Miss Jade! If you don't mind...
Jade: Yes, but don't stay too long.
Dora and Tai: Yay!!!
Tako: *shushing face to Dora and Tai* Shh! Keep your voices down.

Inside Jade's House

Jade: *while in the kitchen* So Tako, you're dressing like a pig?
Tako: Actually, I'm dressing like Porco Rosso, and I'm not entering in a Halloween costume contest anywhere around Japan.
Jade: Of course, Halloween is not a traditional holiday there and some places will not let you in especially while wearing costumes and even do trick-or-treating.
Dora: It's true!
Tai: But we're about practice here for tonight's trick-or-treating.

Jade: *As she prepares lunch* I hope you all are hungry.
Tako: I'm not, Jade, but they are.
Dora and Tai: Yay!!
Tako: *As Jade brings the lunch to the dining room* Lower your voices!
Jade: And here you go! *As Dora and Tai are surprise when they saw what Jade prepare for lunch*
Dora: It's ham!!!
Tai: Ramen! (Yup, it's organic ramen in a chicken miso broth with uncured ham, soft-boiled egg and green onions, while Jade has her ramen, same broth, but with grilled chicken breast strips, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, julienned carrots and spinach)

*While Jade blows her ramen along with her chopsticks, Dora uses a plastic fork to pick up the ham without even blowing hers *
Dora: It's hot!
Tako: Dora! *To Jade* You have to forgive my little sister she's been watching Ponyo too many times. (I don't own the movie 'Ponyo' whatsoever)
Jade: It's okay, Tako, but tell me all about your siblings.

Tako: Well, technically, Jade, they belong to my stepmother.
Jade: * raising her eyebrows* Stepmother?!?!

Tako: You see, my real mother died of a terminal cancer when I was five years old, my father before becoming a police commissioner at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, he rescued my stepmother who was born in L.A. is about to become a wife to the leader of the Yakuza clan after being kidnapped from her parents claimed they own them money.

Jade: Now, that leader of the Yakuza clan is he affiliate with Carmen Sandiego.
Tako: I don't think so, Jade! Anyway, after five years of therapy and getting to know me and my father, her parents are happy to accept us, after my father married my stepmother, Dora was born on March 3rd.
Jade: March 3rd?!?! As in Hina matsuri or Girl's Day?
Tako: That's right, Jade and a year later, Tai is born on May 5th, and it was Kodomo no hi or Children's Day.

Jade: That's a nice story.
Tako: Grandma [Suki Yaki] is happy for my father and loves my stepmother.
Jade: So why are you here?
Tako: I'm going to see Spencer and Brenda for something and later on tonight, I'm taking my little siblings for trick-or-treating, and they are not taking all candies home.
Tai: Not even one.
Tako: You know your grandmother's warning.
Tai: Yes, big brother!

Jade: Well, it's hard for every kid coming over to get treats here.
Tako: Right, Dora, Tai, let's get going!
Dora/Tai: Okay! *To Jade in Japanese* Thank you for the food, Miss Jade!
Jade: *in Japanese* You're welcome, you two! *As Tako, Dora and Tai left, Jade starts washing dishes and place them in the dishwashing machine hoping nothing will not go wrong*

[End of Part One: Oh, by the way, before I forget anything, there's a few things to remember first the new characters I created: Dora Yaki and Tai Yaki are pun names for Dorayaki [some sort of snack cake in Japan which made of two round slices of castella/Japanese style sponge cake and azuki bean paste] and Taiyaki [a fish-shaped snack cake made with the same as Dorayaki only sold as street food] and those costumes are based on Studio Ghibli movies: Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro and Porco Rosso, I don't own any of them whatsoever and same with two Japanese sweets]

Part Two

Halloween Night somewhere in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

*Kids under between twelve to fourteen years old goes trick or treating with their own grow-ups like parents or bigger siblings*

Trick-or-treater#1(male dressing as a magician): *seeing a big mansion that came out of nowhere* Look there's another house.
Trick-or-treater#2 (another male dressing as a Jack-O'-Lantern): I don't know about this one.
Trick-or-treater#1: Ah, come on don't be a chicken let's see if they give us treats. *Trick-or-treater#2 gulped as the boys knocks at front door*
Trick-or-treater#1 and #2: Trick or...*Bowser roared at the boys, and they screamed then ran out as Bowser closes the door*

Meanwhile at Jade's House

*Jade just fixes her dinner when all of the sudden someone ringing at the doorbell*

Jade's Mind: *as Jade came to the door* Trick-or-treaters, can they learn that there's a security camera outside.

Jade: *After she opens the door she saw Wendy, the Good Little Witch* Wendy, what are you doing here?
Wendy: Jade, I needed your help. *Jade gasped that it was Casper, Spooky and the Ghostly Trio (Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso) along with someone familiar*

Old City, Knoxville, TN, USA

[Hidden ACME Headquarters]

Three hours later...

Spencer Ross: *to Jade after she press the signal button from the ACME informant for help while Wendy gets Casper, Spooky and the Ghostly Trio to safety* Thanks for helping our informant out, Jade.

Brenda N. Butters: And I don't know what's going on here? But the informant is unconscious and we couldn't find any medical staff coming from the ACME Medical Center in San Francisco.

Jade: Well, I hope you'll find some here most of them are college students trained to be medical doctors.

Spencer: Even if we find one, Jade, it's not good enough.
Casper: *as he woke up* Where am I?
Jade: Casper, it's me, Jade!
Casper: Jade! Help us! We've been sprayed.
Jade: Who sprayed you, Spooky and your uncles [as in the Ghostly Trio].
Casper: This man called Maelstrom. *Spencer and Brenda gasped*
Jade: *as she raised her eyebrows* Maelstrom?!?!

Casper: The new leader of VILE, along with others from out of nowhere.
Wendy: At least I've got my magic to get rid of the ghost begone repellent.

Jade: Can you describe them, Casper?
Spooky: *as he woke up as well* We all can.
Spencer: Jade, we'll get the portal open for you to just go home, we'll make sure to tell you after this holiday [Halloween] is over.

Brenda: Yeah, Jade, we'll wait for medical help.
Jade: Thank you both and Wendy, get me whenever anyone's ready to explain.
Wendy: Of course, Jade!

Brenda: And we'll wait for Tako and his siblings from trick-or-treating around this town.
Jade: Good, because we want them safe before something happens to them.
Spencer: It's already taken care of, Jade!

*As the portal opens, Jade enters the portal and yes, she's home again without any members of VICE searching for any ACME agents to get rid of*

[End of Part Two: Happy Halloween! Sorry, it took so long to think of a story before and after Halloween just relax this story is not over yet]

Before I go the next story, I was very late to get my latest one in, and I have a hard time on this because I forgot to mention that this one is after Retribution Returns, other than Bowser there are others in this story so waited for a while it gets surprising.

Part Three

Old City, Knoxville, TN, USA

Three days later...

*Jade came to the hidden headquarters of ACME by portal*

Jade: Thanks for the portal transportation!
Brenda: Our pleasure!
Jade: Any words?
Spencer: No word from anybody.
Brenda: And Tako's siblings were upset because trick-or-treating around the neighborhood is a nightmare not only them, but the others who didn't get a lot of candies but a bunch of rocks there.

Jade: How are Casper and the other ghosts doing?
Spencer: They're recovered but the informant is upset over the evidence being erased when Agent Sterling needs to find out what's going on in Toronto.
Casper: *as he phases through the wall* But we'll ready to speak.

The Infirmary/Hidden ACME Medical Center

Jade: One at a time, tell me what happened and where the incident take place on Halloween?
Stretch: We're in Toronto, Canada.
Fatso: Just going to spook around?
Stinkie: Unfortunately, we've got the spook.

Fatso: From a guy called Maelstrom and his 'guests'
Jade: Guests?!?! Can you describe each one?
Casper: Sure, we can.
Spooky: And believe us, Carmen Sandiego is not of them.

Flashback to Toronto, Ontario, Canada: At the big mansion mention in part two

*Bowser laughed out loud as Doctor Ivo Robotnik [Sonic's Archenemy] came when Casper, Spooky and the Ghostly Trio phases through and being invisible*

Robotnik: Thanks for scaring the trick-or-treaters out.
Bowser: Yeah, and that's why no one will find out anything. *Laughed out loud as Casper, Spooky and the Ghostly Trio headed for the banquet room because of Fatso's stomach is growling*

The Banquet Room

*Everyone was enjoying a fine meal pair with wine*

Terrance Lewis [Jerry's twin brother and Zerlina's uncle]: *to Dr. Gunnar Maelstrom holding his [Terrance] wine glass of off-dry Riesling (German white wine) after enjoying his chicken Tikka Masala with garlic naan* We're really honor to have you here and not having well...She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named who is history forever.

[Referring to Carmen Sandiego and I've got that idea from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone from the film or the novel: where a wand seller (Ollivander) told Harry about Voldemort or should he say He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named well, I don't own anything from the film or the novel by J.K. Rowling whatsoever]

Maelstrom: *after enjoying his salmon in Beurre Blanc with glazed carrots holding his oaked Chardonnay (French or American white wine) * Yes, Lewis, we don't know how well...we must not talk about it.

Giovanni [Leader of Team Rocket]: Indeed, nothing will not go wrong

*As Fatso heads for the buffet table where Tim Scam, Boogie Gus, Myrtle Beesbottom, Helga von Guggen, Geraldine Tusk along with some VILE villains (Dr. Belljar, Baron Wasteland, Buggs Zapper, Jane Reaction, Medeva, Otto 'Gnash' Readmore, Snarla Swing, Dr. Depth, Eartha Brute, Madame Doctor Ima Lezarde, Count Hypno, Wonderrat and other VILE villains [except for the ones who Jade trusted]) * But we feared someone will come back and stop us.

Grady Crumbs [Leader of Team Shine]: You have nothing to feared that's why you have your Rebel Critters, Giovanni.
Giovanni: You mean Pokémon, Grady.
Becca: It's what my father said in our tongue, Giovanni.
Giovanni: Fair enough I should say.

Mangus Gauss: *after enjoying his four-cheese tortellini with tomatoes holding a wine glass of medium bodied Tuscan red wine* Thanks to a new crime-fighting organization they won't be tolerated with us.

Mason Dixon: *As Casper phases through the wall* Indeed, Maelstrom, because your boy, Connor is talking to him.

Maelstrom: Oh, yes, him?!?! And the leader of VICE, I hope he's resourceful.

The Hallway

Matt Connor: *to Max Wells while Casper is invisible while Sterling's Informant disguise as a waiter is gathering evidence by using a hidden camera with sound* Glad you show up unannounced.
Chief Wells: VICE will get rid of ACME and it still a work in progress.
Matt: I'm glad you brought everyone at VICE.
Chief Wells: All, but my secretary [Evelyn], she isn't good for me and besides, she's not, I'm glad her stepmother trusted me to make her work while I looked for someone else.
Matt: I like it, Max, just keep up the good work and don't get rid of VILE or any criminal organizations.

*Everyone screaming at the Banquet Room*

Chief Wells: I will and goodnight, Matt, say hello to Jenna for me. *As Wells leaves, Sterling's Informant got tasered from behind no thanks to a VICE agent and two more VICE agents dragged him away*


Back at the Banquet Room

Tim Scam: *voice only* Someone, do something!
Gnash: *voice only as Fatso enjoying some Southern Fried Chicken (mostly the drumsticks) * Relax, everyone, Doctor Belljar has the solution to get rid of those ghosts for such emergencies.
Fatso: *gulped quietly* Uh-oh! *As he gets out of the banquet room* Casper, Spooky, Fellows, where are you guys, leave now!

* Stinkie stinks up the around the hallway Bowser notice the smell right away and Stretch got Bowser him tripping to the floor*

Robotnik: *as he came with a plate of barbecue ribs* Bowser, what...*Stretch making faces at Robotnik, Robotnik is not amused with his angry face*
Stinkie: Coming, Stretch! *As he uses his stinky breath unto Robotnik but didn't work* Uh-oh!

Stretch: *gulped* Fly outer here! *Spooky screams so loud*
Spooky: Casper, Uncles, hurry, Belljar's got a ghost be gone. *As Casper saw Dr. Belljar holding the ghost be gone gasped*
Casper: Wait for me! *Dr. Belljar laughs and starts uses the ghost be gone now in maximum strength as he, Spooky and the Ghostly Trio screamed very loud*

The Flashback faded

Casper: And that's what happened.
Jade: *with an angry face after what Casper, Spooky and the Ghostly Trio told their story* Unbelievable! I should have known this could get worse.
Spencer: I was afraid of this VICE wants ACME defeated with evil by their side.
Brenda: But what we needed is some help with a good sense of justice.
Jade: Even if ACME is getting low VICE might a lot stronger and besides, we got to find this Evelyn woman she can help us shut VICE down before it's too late.

Spencer: Jade, everyone is now afraid of VICE and as a familiar Star Trek character once said: There can be no justice so long as laws are absolute. Even life itself is an exercise in exceptions.

[Is Spencer, right about this? Not to Jade, it isn't, a crime-fighting war has already begun]
