I.
I was watching the clouds drifting by, as the wind blew against my skin. The rustle of the leaves felt silent as the world continued its infinite spin. The sun was hiding behind some dark grey clouds that were cutting through the morning horizon.
The thick black comforter protected me from the grass, rocks, and prickly assortment of other things. The sun was fighting with the clouds blocking the beautiful colors of the rise. The colors rarely peek out from behind the stormy curtain. A whirl of a drone caught my attention as the vibration swirled aggressively through the early morning. I roll my eyes in the direction of the digital all seeing eye. I voiced a simple question “hello, Who do you belong to l?*. And the camera kept recording me before flying away as a flash of lighting hit a couple acres to the right.
I retreat back inside the crowded house with the comforter thrown over my shoulder. The clouds defeated the sun as I threw the comforter in the laundry room. The whirl of someone's laundry tumbling makes me a bit dizzy. I ventured into the kitchen to pour a glass of milk. I pay little attention to my housemates huddled on the couch. The fresh cold milk flowed smoothly into the plastic cup. I return the gallon jug to the overcrowded fridge. I pour in some chocolate syrup as chocolate milk is my favorite breakfast
I pulled out a croissant sausage egg sandwich from the freezer. I wince at the sharp sound of the microwave's finishing beep. “Ow.” I muttered as I pulled the breakfast sandwich out. It didn't take very long for the milk and delicious flaky sandwich to disappear.
I placed the dishes into the dishwasher with a clumsy hand. I am thankful for them being plastic and not crystal or porcelain. I quickly headed to my shared bedroom on the second floor.
I didn't notice the drone trying to peep through the closed blinds as I flopped into my bookshelf bed despite it being nearly 7:25 Am. The drone flew away to whoever is piloting that expensive thing. The rolling thunder echoed loudly as the storm overtook the skies. I felt every vibration through my soft bed. I allowed my flip flops to fall onto the beige carpet. My mind was wandering around many concepts and fantasies as I barely could stay awake. The rain pelted the roof as the storm continued.
My eyes closed as I drifted back to sleep, as I was unbothered by expextations. The snoring roommate didn't stir.
