Today I learned...... "Why do the Olympic athletes bite their medals?"

History says that, during the early days, traders bit their gold coins to check its authenticity when the precious metal was used as a form of currency. Gold is a soft metal which dents under slight stress and leaves a mark when gnawed.

However, it’s safe to say that the Olympic champions are not checking for the purity of their medals when they pose for the photos with the metal disc in their mouths.
Moreover, since the International Olympic Committee (IOC) stopped awarding pure gold medals in 1912, it is definitely not the reason.

Then why do Olympic winners still bite their medals?
Because the photographers ask them to. “It’s become an obsession with the photographers,” David Wallechinsky, president of the International Society of Olympic Historians, told CNN*.*
Shutterbugs consider the medal biting pose to be the shot that can make it to the front page of next day’s newspaper and hence request the athletes to do so.

I'm reviewing the history of The Spruce Goose after watching the WOEICS episode "When it rains" Apparently, I'm a few days off of the anniversary too. So I guess that's good timing.

These are just some random facts my sister already told me answering my questions:

- Was made of wood. That's why it didn't fly again. It couldn't hold.

-made by a producer.

(Side note. Apparently, a C5 is an airplane.)

Edit: Okay I'm a month off of the anniversary of Huges "Flying it" not a few days.

So... if you were drafting a cast (let's say voice, as if animated, and then, as if live action (preferred)... so do it as "cast/cast") for a potential Carmen movie (big movie... think Fellowship Of The Rings-level big... (assuming someone had a big enough story/script, and could find all the other people)... who would you want?

I'm working on continuing it, but input would be good. Maybe if it could be finished, maybe it could be printed as a book, or maybe sold as a movie (only for a big amount, and the original author get's a big cut)... if anyone, after reading through that folder (it's a live folder, so updates on my end go live when I save. If you have something to add, stash it someplace and let me know... I'll try to work it in as the story stands.))
