Nevon Blair dragged his suitcase and backpack up to the third floor of the ACME's Portwood Hall Dormitory. This was a newly renovated building for students, staff and temporary international agents.

He decided it was a good idea to live close by to the academy. It was cheap, close and he already knew some of the guys here after working with them in the ACME Bunker. Nevon smiled as a few girls walked passed him in the hall. He forgot that it was a coed dorm. Living here was going to be great.

Room 301, his new home away from home was unlocked. Turning the doorknob, Nev found a spacious pad with huge windows and a free flat screen that doesn't look like it's got cable. The room was sparsely decorated, but there was already a few books on the shelf and someone else's suitcase in a corner. A framed map next to the entrance showed the exits in case of fire.

"Anybody in here?" Nevon asked while putting his bags down.

Jason West arrived to the dorms with his usual flair. Once he parked his obnoxiously loud and fast Mustang GT, he began to unload some of his belongings from the trunk. After going up the elevator, Jason began his search for Room 205. As he was searching, he came across Room 204 which had a name tag on it that read "Aragon, D." which Jason knew meant his neighbor would be the infamous, gun toting ACME Agent Derringer. Right next door to Derrin's room, Jason found Room 205. This would be his home away from home for a while.

Once he had unlocked and opened the door, he entered and began placing all of his belongings where he wanted them. He secretly hoped that he didn't get a roommate as he could use the extra space for his programming mainframe as well as some spare hardware which could be hard to find in desperate times. He also needed room for his spare programming desktop and his spare laptop. On top of all that he still needed room for his clothes and his Ready Bag for any ACME missions that he might be sent on.

As Jason was returning to his car, he bumped into Derrin who was trying to bring in her belongings as well. Sensing that she could use some help, Jason took the majority of the things Derrin had with her and helped her carry them to her room. After a short conversation, Jason returned to his car and brought the rest of his belongings to his room.

He then set to work on getting all of his programming equipment set up. Jason decided that on the off chance, he did end up with a roommate he would rather have window side of the room so that if his computers got too warm, he could easily open the window and let some fresh air in to run through the radiator of his water cooled programming desktop. This wasn't just any old water-cooled desktop. It was a Jason West custom build that was set up to run overclocked perpetually as well as have a really cool red glowing effect at night. After getting everything situated, he decided to go next door to annoy Derrin as well as keep an eye out for what could be the dreaded roommate.

Derrin, Der
Because of her inclination to oversleep, Derrin found living on campus to be a perfect solution, allowing her to eliminate her reliance on her heavily tattooed, blond neighbor for last minute transportation. She was also glad to leave her former Mission Bay apartment - it was too big for her needs at the moment, and it's bare spaces somehow made her feel lonely.

She carried an armful of boxes down the hall, attention diverted by the small room labels. Accidentally stepping on an untied lace, she tripped, contents spilling in all directions.

"Walk much?"

She groaned, recognizing the voice. "Not you."

A chuckle. "Looks like you could use a hand."

"Nah, I've got it."

He knelt down anyway to assist her.

"I'll help you bring all this inside -- your room is next to mine."

"Lucky me."

He grinned. "I'll say."

She rolled her eyes, but a good natured smile played on her lips. The pair continued down the hall, and Jason gently set her belongings down in front of the door.

"If you need anything else, you know where to find me." His teasing tone procured the desired effect of getting under her skin. Shaking her head, she pushed opened the door, taking stock of her new home for the first time.

It seemed as if she was the first to arrive. Examining both beds, she decided to leave the nicer of the two for her roommate as a kind gesture. This put her closest to the door. Seating herself in the creaky desk chair she pulled the box nearest to her feet closer, figuring that it was a good starting point as any to begin unpacking.

The elevator seemed to be broken, so with a huff of disappointment, Molly O'Sullivan carried a large wicker basket of fresh laundry up the stairs. As she passed the second floor the ACME Lab Technician noticed some new agents were moving in. There was @Derrin, who she recognized around Campus, and a man (@Jason West) who seemed like her boyfriend helping with some boxes. Though Molly never remembered Derrin saying anything about a new relationship. She made a mental note to ask her tonight at the party in the dormitory's recreation area.

Balancing the laundry basket and fumbling blindly to open a door knob--a trick she often did while carrying plates at her father's sports bar--Molly pushed her way into room #309. The soft beeping and whirling of metal parts signified her entry into a dorm space unlike any other in the compound.

Her roomie, @Colleen Slate was a magnificent robotics expert and hacker. It didn't take long for Colleen to notice that Molly needed more space for her plants and within the first week they had two fully functional "growcubes" named Xena and Inara. It was an excellent pairing, as far as Molly was concerned. She learned quickly that Colleen was a strict vegan who could benefit from some freshly grown herbs and goatweed, and Molly found the automatic watering and UV light rotation of Colleen's robots to work wonders on hybrid tea roses.

Tucking away the folded laundry, Molly sent a quick text to her room mate: [Please pick up shiitake mushrooms for the potluck tonight.]

((So... the latest is that the woman who reported the folks to the police, called the guy who handled the appeal (after we left the room) and told him that if he doesn't make sure to get the folks out of the building, she'd make things difficult for him. The property manager told ma a few days ago, and ma told me today. So, anyone know what that would be called? Coercing, bribery, influence peddling? Would that invalidate the eviction? This is Section 8 housing, so low-income housing. The appeal decision should in theory get here next week or maybe Friday, and they can appeal again, maybe this one would be in real court... don't know. I will advise the folks contact legal aid and see what they say.))

((Correction: the parents are caving, they are planning for the move ON January 1st, without waiting to hear what the appeal decision is, and not willing to fight it. I stormed out of their place tonight (punched the call button for the elevator... they may have heard it), because I know they could win the second appeal hands down (they don't want "more of the stress from all this", they would discuss shit when I went to the bathroom tonight). I reminded them they may not get the entertainment center through the door to the apartment, we probably will have to take the claw legs off the table for the first time ever, but they have their heart set on it. ))

They're set on a two bedroom apartment ($154 more than the current, at least), it's up to me if I want to move, they said. Once we leave this place (section 8/low-income housing, the waiting list is over 2 years), that's it... the building manager retires later 2025... she pulled a string to get me in here))

Did you know.....The original candy canes were straight sugar sticks that were often used to decorate Christmas trees. The first historical reference to the cane shape was in 1670, when the choirmaster at Cologne Cathedral in Germany bent the sugar sticks into the shape of a shepherd's staff. Candy canes remained white until the early 20th century when red stripes and peppermint flavor became popular.
