That was very close. It's the Pieta.
Any reason why both of you gravitated to Bruges instead of the Vatican?
I had a strong thought it might be the one at the Vatican but the date was 1498-1499 in what i found online

Michaelangelo statue containing a woman 200cm or less in height and like Victorique said, Pieta was made before 1500 while Bruges was sculpted 1501-1504
