Tenchi is going back and forth between the lab room and his comfy corner office working. Well, mostly working anyway as he fights off sleepy time with a warm cup of coffee. The problems caused by Rhyme-Net had been dealt with but now a new challenge awaited Tenchi on this rainy night.
As the phone rang Tenchi sitting at his desk answered saying, “Hello ACME Detective Agent Tenchi speaking. If this is about monies owed I’ll have to transfer you to Chase Devineaux’s office.” The mysterious yet familiar person on the other end spoke saying, “I’m not interested in ACME’s financial problems Tenchi.” Tenchi shot back, “Carmen!? Why are you calling me?” Carmen slightly upset replied, “Oh you don’t know do you? Well let me make it simple for you. Give me back my passport!”
Tenchi at first confused remembered that Carmen’s phone book filled with fax numbers had been taken into the evidence after the “Trans-Syberia Case”. Of course the “evidence locker” was a drawer in his desk in this case. As Tenchi felt in the drawer without directly looking he said, “Oh um I thought that wasn’t important and didn't check to see what it was yet. Why did you really call?” Carmen then said, “I’m bored Tenchi challenge me.” Tenchi said, “Excuse me?”
Carmen said, “You heard me detective solve my puzzles or admit defeat now.” Tenchi feeling Carmen was in a “rainy mood” agreed to her game and so it was afoot.

Tenchi easily placed the buildings to their respective cities and felt this was quite weird. Did Carmen call ACME detectives during the night? Probably not unless she knew them well enough anyway. Tenchi sent a photo of the item in question to Carmen along with the letters in proper order.
Tenchi said, “This wouldn’t happen to be it would it?” Carmen quite happy said, “You know perfectly well it is now gimme.” Tenchi replied, “Oh well then I guess that explains the secret compartment with this other book then.”
Carmen sent another series of puzzles for Tenchi to solve saying, “This will teach you not to snoop unless asked. My henchman Robin Banks has hidden some of the worlds most favorite mountains can you find them all?”
Tenchi said, “Are you kidding me? This is a word puzzle and the lighting sucks. This “Carmen Caper” is very low quality though given the circumstances it cant be helped.” Carmen answered back, “Shush, don’t tell me how to leave clues, how else am I supposed to satisfy my sudden caper cravings? Besides I’ll have the real mountains stolen in the future anyway.” Tenchi not sure he should be enjoying practicing crime prevention with the criminal herself said, “We’ll just find them then too I guess.” Carmen her mood steadily lifting continued, “Aww, thats too bad. I was thinking of having Patty steal a few. Its a shame she’ll end up in jail.”
Tenchi screamed, “No! Ahem, I mean I don’t care. And it’ll take more than imprisonment threats to stop me.” Carmen excited said, “I’m happy to hear that. Now take this!”
Carmen confidently said, “You’ve had it now Tenchi! My ultimate plan will be your downfall! Hahaha!” Carmen then sent Tenchi an entire role play of a hopefully fictional global plot by V.I.L.E. to steal things from around the world. Carmen wrote, “Carmen Sandiego has been on a world wide whirlwind. But what is she after? Use each clue to help unscramble the name of the country she has targeted. Then use the circled letters to spell out what she is collecting.”
1. She said “C’est la vie” and jumped from the terrace as she grabbed her first target just south of Paris. (CEFARN)
2. Next she hopped a plane for down under and nabbed number two in the land of koalas and kangaroos. (LUASATIRA)
3. She then took a slow boat past the Philippines, Manila and all, to find the third largest behind the “Great Wall”. (HANIC)
4, Next she grabbed a late flight to Northern Africa catching a couple of winks, before nabbing number four near the pyramids and sphinx. (GEPTY)
5. She then set sail west across the Mediterranean to grab her last target near Barcelona, almost where she began. (IPANS)
Carmen Sandiego’s nowhere in sight, but she forgot her bags. So, if you’ve solved the clues correctly, you can return the missing, (Blank)
Tenchi after solving all five clues said to Carmen, “I’m going to send your passport to Chez Acidophilus and hopefully you aren’t bored anymore.” Carmen said, “Oh no I’m quite better now and thank you for playing along. The little one here is happy you helped me feel better too.” Tenchi said, “Well tell her to be good and don’t steal.” Carmen replied, “Ha... ha... ha. Goodnight Tenchi; See you next crime.”
