Another fact about Silver Springs: They brought rhesus monkies there for the jungle cruise and thought they'd be trapped on the island. The people had no idea the animals were good swimmers and escaped. Now the monies can be found all along the river.

Furthermore The Apalachicola River flows from Georgia through Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico, and the other Apalachicola River originates in Florida and flows for about 50 miles before emptying into Lake Seminole. This can sometimes cause confusion for visitors and locals alike!
