Oddly enough, this was my favourite sentence: "Yawning, she stretched, a few joints cracking noisily."

Oddly enough, it's probably my least favorite sentence. It was added more as an afterthought to aid the transition. Re-reading it I find it clunky and awkward

Ah yes, it might have seemed out of place. Although I thought it added personality.

I feel like it's one of those sentences that works better spoken aloud rather than read on page
