Laverna was sound asleep in her cozy bed.
Her room at sandiego manor was warm and toasty on this chilly morning.
She drooled a bit in her sleep as the sun rose into the sky turning the dark night sky into a light blue morning.
She woke up to a clattering in the hallway;
Laverna bolted upright and looked around in confusion. The noise was far too loud, rumbuckous to be Carmen sandiego.
Laverna knew Carmen to be quiet as a mouse and as sly as a fox during her waken hours.
Laverna wondered if a burglar had broken into this high security fortress. “Don’t be ridiculous, if Carmen designed the security of this place. Nobody is getting in like that.” Laverna said out loud.
The noise clattered again making Laverna climb out of bed to go investigate the ruckus.
First, she had to slip on some day clothes as it was a rule that she had to follow while living with Carmen.
Laverna slipped into a black t-shirt, some red sweatpants and her black ballet flats before dashing out her door.
She found Carmine the cat doing zoomies down the hall. The orange feline had knocked over a priceless vase; the vase now lay shattered on the carpet.
“Carmine, You're in serious trouble.” Laverna scolded as she scooped up the playful kitty. The bengal cat curled into Laverna. The purring was almost as if she was saying
“I didn’t knock the vase off the pedestal, it must have jumped.” Laverna only shook her head in disagreement
Carmen’s door opened as she stepped out of her room. She tilted her head to the side in bewilderment. “What happened here?” Carmen asked while surveying the scene.
“Sis, carmine was running around like a bull in a china shop.” Laverna explained while snuggling the cat which was now trying to escape her captor.
“That explains it perfectly.” Carmen answered before taking the meowing feline from laverna’s arms.
“And as for you. No catnip for a week.” Carmen Half-heartingly teased her cat before kissing carmine on the forehead.
Laverna shrugged as she saw carmine meowing in protest to Carmen
