Any lingering sleepiness from a series of flights from the United Kingdom to California rapidly left Nace as he walked up the steps to Molly’s apartment. He quietly turned the key in the lock, quite grateful Molly had given him the key, just like she had the key to his place.

It was as he turned the key and quietly walked inside, closing the door slowly behind him that he had realized he hadn’t quite taken Goliath into account. He hoped he wouldn’t wake his dog, but knowing Goliath that was a distinct impossibility.

He had gotten into the living room, getting a short view of Molly lying on her back on the sofa. Her eyes were closed, her hair up in a loose bun. He smiled as she noticed she was wearing his long sleeve Springboks jersey with a pair of silk sleeping shorts.

Foxglove was slumbering away on Molly’s stomach with Goliath napping beside her. And it was just then that Goliath sat up and began barking loudly before running over to Nace, and jumping up licking his face.

“Hey you…” Nace chuckled as he scratched his dog behind the ears.

It was then that Molly sat up, the sound of barking and a distinct male voice waking her up. She sat up, startled and after a second or so realized Nace was standing in there in the living room. Goliath was still up on his hind paws, licking his face as Nace scratched him behind the ears.

Blinking both sleep and surprise from her eyes she said, “You-- Nace! What are you doing here?”

"Took the red-eye from Great Britain." Nace replied, "Wanted to surprise you, love."

Molly blushed slightly as she tugged on Goliath's collar, feeling the large dog's wagging tail swishing against her legs as she did so.

She had to tug on Goliath's collar so she could put her arms around Nace.

Nace put his arms around her, angling his face towards hers, so their noses wouldn't bump. He could feel her arms around his neck. Feeling her lips make contact, a soft welcome home kiss, a sort that kept a certain warmth inside him.

He wrapped his arms around her waistline, kissing her back, a slow and soft kiss. It was quite some time before they parted.

“It was a good surprise.” She smiled softly ignoring Goliath’s barking.

"I figured surprises were things you appreciate. The good ones at any rate." Nace said, smiling back at her, before asking, "I also imagine you'd found the notes then?"

Nace was referring to a series of notes he had hidden throughout Molly’s apartment, the lab, O’Sullivans and other places she frequented. Each of them contained a message saying the words, I Love You in different languages. The first six were of the six official languages of South Africa, English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, Swati and Tsonga.

“Each and every one.” Molly said as she rested her head against his chest as they stood in her living room. She looked up at him and smiled, “You're sneaky.”

Nace returned the smile as he held her in his arms, “I only wish I could’ve seen your face when I had our song play at O’Sullivans.”

The song had been Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On. The song that both Nace and Molly had agreed was their song and thus one Nace had played on the day of their six week anniversary. It would be a bouquet of flowers, three carnations and three roses, one for each week they had been a couple and a small card reading a certain radio station and time.

“Well you can ask about half the regulars at O'Sullivans. I was smiling like a fool.” Molly said, resting her head against his shoulder.

“I only wish I’d been there for our six week anniversary.” Nace replied.

“It doesn’t matter. You are here now.” Molly replied, before stepping back to look him over, smiling.

“Just making sure that you really are here.” Molly explained.

Still holding her in his arms Nace said, “I’m here now, love.”

And then he noticed Foxglove lying curled up in a little ball between Goliath’s front paws and Goliath affectionately licking the sable kitten before resting his head protectively beside the cat.

“Isn’t that a beautiful thing. It feels like just yesterday they couldn’t stop chasing each other around.” Nace observed.

“You've been away too long, boyscout. They're best friends now.” Molly smiled, as she watched, and then asked, “Are you hungry?”

“I had something to eat on the plane, but thanks for the offer. I'm just glad to spend time with you.” Nace replied.

Molly pulled him back on the couch and leaned close to Nace, whispering in his ear, “Then we have a lot of time to make up for.”

Nace put his arm around Molly’s waist, lightly kissing her lips, “Definitely a lot of time to make up for. What do you suppose we should do?”

Feeling Molly pulling his lapel he commented, “A rhetorical question of course…”

He kissed her lightly afterward, then felt Molly deepen the kiss and pull him close. He smiled and placed his arm under the hollow of her knees, moving another arm around her shoulders and lifting her up, carrying her towards her bedroom...

Much later: "And I suppose you could tell I missed you?" Nace said as he turned on his left side to face Molly, looking into her eyes.

Molly smiled, with a hint of a jesting tone in her voice, "I don't know, you might have to try that again for me to be sure.”

“What? Carry you off to your room again?” Nace smiled as he faced her and lightly kissed her lips again.

Molly giggled, “Something like that.”

Nace sat up in bed and said, “I’d happily carry you to the living room and back here then.”

He slipped out of the bed, walking to Molly’s side, sliding the covers down, placing his arms under the hollows of her knees and just around her shoulders. Molly’s arms snaked around his neck and he lightly kissed her lips.

He smiled as he heard her try (and fail) to hide a giggle as he carried her from the bed to the sofa. As they walked out of the living room Molly cooed, “I can get used to being carried.”

He set Molly on her feet, kissing her again, “A preview of what’s at the end of the return trip to the bedroom. And that’s where I’ll show you, yet again, how much I missed you.”

Molly lifted her arms, anticipating him to carry her again, a smile on her face as she said, “Then you better get to it.”

He picked her up again and walked back to the bedroom, but not before another kiss, “I believe deja vu in a good way... “

He set her on her back, gently on the bed before he kissed her again, feeling her arms around the back of his neck, pulling him closer...

"Napoleon attacked by rabbits" so I had to go google search it. "The story of Napoleon being "defeated" by rabbits during a hunt in 1807 is a humorous anecdote, but it's not a confirmed historical fact, though it is mentioned in General Thiébault's memoirs. "

I got this comment on my YouTube channel, comparing the new Carmen on Netflix to the old one we gre up with......

"In the original Carmen looks like a man. The original episodes all end the same, the new one has more characters, they all end differently and the art style is better"

I just delete those comments as there is no point in arguing. Everything that’s old is hated by new generation and so forth
