Sorry to be MIA for so long. I’m working on chapters. As I worked on the ending I realized I don’t necessarily want to confirm a biological connection between Claire and Carmen. We obviously never get canonical confirmation that she’s related to Avalon, so technically test would need to be done to confirm. I thought I’d use it as a plot point but I think it’s more interesting to leave it vague.
It's been one week since we had to help my sweet cat Mable leave this world after 16.5 years. I've never known grief like this.

Hey everyone, I know I’ve been gone a while. Life has been a lot…anyway I hope for those of us in the US that everyone is feeling okay? I don’t want to assume we are all of the same opinions on current issues which is why this is a status and not a chat. Anyway if you are grieving and scared I’m right there with you. And thanks to this place for being the perfect escape for so many of us

Well last week was a lot, my husband had a very sudden unexpected death in the family and I was stuck home alone with my 15 year old cat who just got out of the hospital, she had her forth stroke while my husband was out of town because of course…the vet bills are ungodly…here’s hoping bad things don’t come in threes and I can actually do some writing this week.
When you realize the productive creative headspace you’ve been enjoying lately has actually been a manic episode this whole time…
I think I’ve written myself into a corner when not being officially a member of acme or vile is a plot device but to get privileges I have to apply to one side or another…whoops. -

Why did we decide creativity requires escaping from something? Why do so many of our metaphors for creativity imply that ordinary thinking is a restriction?

It's because it hinges on the idea that everyone wants to be ordinary (aka "normal") and that being anything other should be punishable socially. It stems from imperial modes of thinking that harm people not white-cis-straight-abled-perisex-etc because the idea of normal is centred on "some guy"-isms -
