@Tenchi Masaki Unfortunately, trying to get everyone on the same page is impossible as it stands now... an Office '13 file will open in OpenOffice, but will probably be missing some formatting... same the other way around. And, that's the problem... each piece of software has it's own way of...

@Jacqueline Hyde The current group (no offense to anyone) does admittedly limit who might be able to "attend", but if it's in advance enough, maybe more will attend, and if it's a regular-ish thing, maybe more will attend.

It's the same way with the patent system or the copyright system... whoever can jump through all the hoops first and publish owns it, and if you can get it in a paid-to-see magazine or something, then you win... it's too bad all society is like that now, and that's why open source will never...

From what I see these days, it's mostly just scientists butting heads... I say one thing and you say another, but neither one is really dogma.. the evidence publishing is just a money grab, which is sad in it's own right

From what I see, dogma doesn't figure too much into it anymore, though... there is a fair amount of resistance to anything that challenges the norm, but nothing like it used to be. I also keep an eye on oceanographic discoveries, too.

Look at the early 20th Century... Tesla was considered crazy... wireless power, remote controlled boats, transferring power over long distances, alternating current... what do we have nowadays?

Well, dogmatic polices were the mainstay in that age (considering when it was made)

@Claire Yeon If anyone wants to look up what I was going to bring to the "table" for Halloween, if you don't mind gore, look up "Raw" (in French, but everything I've seen has English subtitles) and "Cradle Of Fear"... keep in mind, these are rated R for a reason, so personal judgment is a thing...

So... if you were drafting a cast (let's say voice, as if animated, and then, as if live action (preferred)... so do it as "cast/cast") for a potential Carmen movie (big movie... think Fellowship Of The Rings-level big... (assuming someone had a big enough story/script, and could find all the other people)... who would you want?

I'm working on continuing it, but input would be good. Maybe if it could be finished, maybe it could be printed as a book, or maybe sold as a movie (only for a big amount, and the original author get's a big cut)... if anyone, after reading through that folder (it's a live folder, so updates on my end go live when I save. If you have something to add, stash it someplace and let me know... I'll try to work it in as the story stands.))
