A Winter Branch
There’s a branch that twists against the wind
Refusing the gentle pull of sky.
It snaps a little when the rain comes,
Yet still it reaches, stubborn, high.
The sun warms all, but it shuns the light,
Holding shadows close like a cloak.
A bird lands briefly, then flutters away...
Currently feeling frustrated with coworkers who don't pull their weight, disappear for long periods during their shifts, and roll eyes when you ask for help with something.
Kendra suddenly had an idea. “What if we check to see how many days off Lucy has?” she spoke.
Then the teen turned to Julie.
“We could say that she took a few days off to visit her mom, because those are the only days off her mom had.”
Julie nodded in agreement. “Great Idea.” She answered...
