Appearance: Out of the suit, Tony is usually dressed in either a tailored Armani suit for business or a casual armani exchange ensemble when at leisure.
Tony has many sets of armored suits though most of them have a gold/red or silver/red colour scheme.
Tony's most notable trait is the arc reactor in the middle of his chest. The mini arc reactor powers a magnetic chest plate that keeps shrapnel from reaching his heart and killing him.

Anthony Edward Stark, the son of wealthy industrialist and head of Stark Industries, Howard Stark, and Maria Stark, is born on Long Island. A boy genius, he enters MIT at the age of 15 to study electrical engineering and later receives Master's degrees in electrical engineering and physics. After his parents are killed in a car accident, he inherits his father's company.

Tony continues his father's work of producing weapons and other military related technology until one day he is injured and captured by terrorist organisation "The Ten Rings" . The ten rings order Stark to build weapons for them, but Stark's injuries are dire and shrapnel is moving towards his heart.

His fellow prisoner, Ho Yinsen, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist whose work Stark had greatly admired during college, aids Stark in constructing a mini arc reactor and magnetic chest plate to keep the shrapnel from reaching Stark's heart, keeping him alive.

Under the guise of building weapons, Stark and Yinsen use the workshop to design and construct a suit of powered armor, which Stark uses to escape. But during the escape attempt, Yinsen sacrifices his life to save Stark's by distracting the enemy as Stark prepared the armor.

Upon returning home, Stark resolved to stop making weapons and things that harm others. His decision was met with much criticism from the board of directors of Stark Industries. Later on, Stark's research revealed that his own company had been supplying weapons to various terrorist and not just the US Military.

Enraged, Stark redesigned his powered armor and used it to disable all the illegally distributed weapons from Stark Industries, as well as take out the ten rings organisation. Stark Industries was also repurposed to fund and perform research on technologies that are meant to help and heal rather than hurt and harm.

Stark's armor suit antics drew the attention of SHIELD who recruited him into the Avengers Initiative. Ever since then, Stark has served as a consultant to SHIELD on various technologies as well as a member of the Avengers.

Personality: Stark is often described as mischievous and in many ways, a big kid. He doesn't take well to authority and sometimes comes off as arrogant. Under the Billionaire playboy image, Stark is a kind and determined soul, loyal to those he respects and a dependable ally when things get tough.
