It was everything that had ever been written about a summer day in golden California: blue skies, warm breezes, spirited laughter... a chorizo burrito and an ice-cold can of Dr Pepper. She could barely recount the events that had led up to this point, one serendipitous conversation following another, but the fortuitous tetrad could not have selected a better day to visit Ocean Beach.

True, a forecast of fog was predicted over the Bay later in the evening--this was San Francisco--but, for now,...
