*Starts indoor holographic campfire setup with accurate warmth effects*
Now because it’s the Holidays ghost stories are a given I guess we should all tell ghost stories! Just submit them to the fire... Which is actually an advanced holographic display with story reader. Just put your stories into the slot here and the machine will scan them and tell the story with holographic effects added for extra scare factor.
So I guess I should start with mine Wuhahahaha!... *lights go out except for campfire*
The Baba Yaga
As strange as she is hideous, Baba Yaga is a tricky one children and thats why she’s so scary. *thunder rumbles* She can either help you or harm you, which means if you see her you better just run away to be sure. Better safe than sorry as they say, for if she feels wicked she will snatch you up and eat you! *thunder strikes* You kids will know her when you see her luckily or maybe you aren’t so lucky if you see her at all. But know this her looks are hideous, she is extremely skinny and has a long, long nose to better smell children with. Her teeth are made of iron and sharp as nails. She rides around in a mortar since brooms are not good enough for her and sometimes she might take her pestle along with her.
Most children know to stay away from this witch so you should be fine now that you have been warned about her. Unfortunately for the children who think you will never encounter her I’m afraid her house has never been found. This is because it has chicken legs that enable it to move wherever Baba Yaga wants to go. So I’m afraid she can bring her house near to you and go looking for children to eat. You’ll know her house by the bone fence that surrounds it and the giant chicken head that sits atop the house. If you say Hut, Hut, Turn your back to the forest and your front to me! then the house will rise up on its legs and turn to face you only then can you enter. Not that you would want to. *thunder*
Vasilisa the Beautiful
In our story, Vasilisa was a girl with a magical doll, she got from her mother after she died. Her mother told her to feed the doll and if you ever need help just ask it. Her father remarried a horrible woman with equally unkind daughters. So when Vasilisa's father went away on a trip, the new stepmother sold their house and moved her and the three girls to a cottage in the woods. She then told them hey had to do impossible tasks and had to finish by candlelight. But the candles went out and fearing their mother the sisters threw Vasilisa out and told her to find more light. The girl wandered through the woods and came across Baba Yaga’s house and shouted, “Hut, Hut, Turn your back to the forest and your front to me!”
Once inside Baba Yaga said she wouldn’t eat her only because her real mother was her cousin and presented numerous difficult chores to Vasilisa to do in exchange for a fire to take back to her household. Only with the aid of the doll, Vasilisa was able to complete all the tasks and is given a fire in a skull lantern. But when she returned her stepmother was there and took the lantern from her and into the house. But the lantern burned them into ash since they were such bad people. But Inevitably, Vasilisa's story ended on a happy note. She got married to the tsar of Russia, and it was Baba Yaga who made it possible for that to happen.
Submitted for your approval by the midnight society- Djinn: “Stop now Jacky.” Aww, but I always wanted to say that in context... Djinn: “Say the end instead, it will make more sense.” Well I guess well close this story out with a very scary..... THE END
