A new recruit welcoming.

I own no one here except for myself, and some of the rookies mentioned here.
This was a dream, I had one morning partially inspired by a IC chat.

It was a quiet afternoon at ACME headquarters, the other agents were getting ready to greet the new rookies coming in. All day long they had set up a room with banners, and balloons. There was also to be ice cream, and cookout food as well to welcome them in. While everyone was taking a break , Invader crept in and added a few details of her own. She mixed shiny foil streamers to give the room a flashing look and had also added some welcome to ACME mini gift baskets. Weeks before she had herd whispers of this grand greeting, and obtained a list of new recruits.

At the same time things were quiet, but she was doing far better then when she first arrived. It had nearly been half a year now sense Chase had found her. She had made a few more acquaintances, but still kept her distance. There was that unshakable feeling of wariness, that crept over her whenever there was a large crowd in close quarters. Thanks to one of the agents the amulet of names had been activated, though all she had was a single letter. That gave her hope, she still had that at least .

"What are you doing?" Called Chase.
Invader jumped, and turned to face him.
"I just made mini welcome baskets for the rookies." She stammered. "I just thought it would be a nice touch."
"That was very thoughtful of you." Replied Chase. "But how did you acquire a list?"
"Observation, and timing." Invader confessed.
"You can just ask." He replied smiling.
"I will next time." She replied.

Invader then scurried off to the basement laundry room to take one last look at the laundry room sign up sheet. It was empty , that meant she had a day off. That was good, she needed one and hoped the new recruits would love the baskets. That made her happy, and ACME had never been cleaner sense she arrived. However she was disturbed that the nightmares were starting to return again, after she had been free from them for months. There was a journal that she had been keeping but showed no one. For the rest of the day she sat there writing her heart out, not knowing when she would be done. Eventually she decided to take a bit of a nap.

Later on the new recruits had started to file into the main dining hall, and were delighted by what they saw. Zack was keeping track of the guests, and noticed someone was missing. When he asked Ivy, she suggested he head to the basement laundry room. Making his way to the basement, Zack wondered if Invader thought she had not been invited. Knocking on the door, he waited till he herd the shuffling of feet. He was wondering secretly if the extra decorations were her doing.

"Hey there sleepyhead." Called Zack. "Are you ready to go?"
"Go where?" Invader replied puzzled.
"Did you not get an invite?" Pondered Zack. "Oh here it is taped to the door."
"Invite?" Mused Invader. "That was very kind of them."
"By the way, welcome to ACME rookie." Laughed Zack.
"Wait , what now?" Said Invader puzzled.
"You know that paperwork we had you fill out?" Offered Zack.
"Yes...why?" She replied. "Was it important?"
"Well I have been meaning, to tell you about it." He stammered.
"Did I do, really horrible on it?" Questioned Invader.
"You did just fine, in fact you are a bit above average." Chimed in Zack. "They have decided to have you join us."
"Well then I suppose I can head upstairs." Invader replied.

Zack fallowed her upstairs, this time she did not vanish as usual. Though she was actively listening to everything around her.

"You are not nervous are you?" Asked Zack.
"No..just an old habit." She replied. "I tend to keep, an ear on my surroundings."

Eventually they made it to the dining hall, and it sounded rather noisy with all the rookies. Both of them entered and made their way to a vacant table. Once she sat down, Chase walked up to the podium and gave a welcome speech. All was quiet as he spoke, when it was finished he welcomed them and announced the food was ready. All of the rookies, gathered in the main hall, and were delighted with the mini baskets that were given to them. A small group formed and started searching for the one that had made them. The group was contested of three boys.

Once they found the one responsible, they pooled things together and made a basket of their own. Meanwhile, Jules, Shadow,Cole, and Ivy, had joined Invader at the empty table. At that moment the rookies zeroed in on the table, that Invader sat at and gave her the basket.

"This..is for me?" Invader Questioned.
"Yes it is, by the way the name is Andrew." One of the boys chimed in. "This is Anthony, and Matt."
"So this is the famed laundry room ghost." Laughed Anthony. "Nice to meet you."
"You are the one who pulled those pranks then." Mused Matt.
"That was very kind of you, for the basket." Invader spoke at last.
"Hey, Tatyana I have someone for you to meet." Called Zack.

Tatyana came over and was happy to see Zack, but she was wondering whom she was going to be introduced to. She walked over to an occupied table and recognized some of the agents there. However there was someone amongst them, whom she had never seen before. The girl appeared a bit nervous, but otherwise happy to be here.

" I would like to introduce you, to invader." Said Zack.

The name stuck her as being odd, why would anyone have a name like that.

"Nice to meet you." She replied out of politeness.
"Hello....nice..to meet you." The figure replied.
"She is still a bit shy around the other people here." Chimed in Zack. "Apparently she just showed up here in the back alley one day." "She seems to have escaped from a laboratory of some sorts."

That information did not sit well with her, but she said nothing. However there was just something about her that seemed a bit off. Even if she had escaped, how would she wound up here puzzled her. Nonetheless there was a aura about her that was , warm and inviting that seemed to give calm to those around her. Moving closer she could see the girl was a bit uneasy with the crowd.

"Would you like to move to a smaller room?" Tatyana asked.
"That would be nice, thank you." Invader replied. "Crowds make me nervous."

The group moved to a side room, and Invader was far more comfortable there.

"So what is your real name?" Inquired Tatyana.
"I ...don't know yet, my memory still escapes me." Said Invader. "I hope you don't mind too much."
"Things just got interesting" Tatyana thought silently. "There is certainly more to her than meets the eye."
"I am the laundry room ghost though." Invader said.
"Hey the cake and ice cream is ready." Called Ivy

With that the group headed out and grabbed some before it was gone.

The end.

((OOC: So, I am still here (at least, while ACP is still a thing, then I have to tether my phone to my laptop, send it's internet to Ethernet to my router and setup my other laptop to access that... I managed it once totally by accident)... updating stuff I'm working on is not a fun process (if anyone checks my stories folder on my Google Drive) anymore... the laptop at my desk is old (Core 2 Duo, 2Ghz, 4 gigs RAM, Win7 Ultimate)... Chrome won't update, Drive won't work... I'm stuck using FreeFileSync to keep stuff up to datep things synced. I have plans of getting a job and having money to have something better (a doorstop is better)

[continuing] I'm sorry if any of my posts are/could be inflammatory or anything... some of them are stuff I've had in the pipeline for a while, and I messed with it enough to get it postable... that's why there are dates showing when I started working on stuff... I'm not, and never have been, trying to step on anyone's toes or say "this is how it should be"... I have no say here, not sure who does these days (like I posted... maybe this is a test to see if we devolve into chaos). Posts like Hierarchy were started long ago, and meant as a guideline and not because I'm the voice of Sauron.

[continuing] I don't have the time to be here a whole lot, I don't have much beyond mom to help with my rent (and once I have a job, that'll take up more time, though I will keep working on stuff (both for here and not) as often as possible, and post when possible on here. I have a question that needs some clarification... being that we are supposed to get permission from the person if we use their character in an addition/story/post, how would that apply if the character is core to the universe (like Carmen... I can replace @Chase, maybe cobble someone into @Ivy's place... but, like @Carmen, being that she's a major character, as long as I don't have her acting or write a major part for her, would that circumvent the rule at all?

[continuing] I'm just curious... the absence of the major's leaves a gap that I'm not sure what to do with anything... we (the Left Behind) could do a story together (or some stories separate), and that'd be cool, but without being able to use any major's, I'm not sure where to take anything. And, yeah... you can probably guess what my typing is like here (or anyplace else)... I type here or in Word, I type something (or notepad), and 15-20+ seconds later it shows up, so I have to stay on top of my grammar and spelling. I have to keep on top of all that, because I'm working on the big Carmen story at the same time, so I can't slip off my game.))

@Jon Eckart Not exactly sure if I understand all your computer probs. I hope you get those resolved soon. Yes, I have many probs with my basic Google Chrome, too. I think it's fair to say we all have a love/hate relationship with technology. 😆 As far as your stories are concerned, you can use any cannon character you like, whether there is a person playing that role on here or not. Say the story is a fanfiction; and that the version of Chase, or Carmen (or whoever) from the computer games, gameshow (or whatever). We don't do Netflix Carmen, mostly because of the violence. And because it is fanfiction, you can also create other characters and situations to suit your story. Now, Chase, Carme, Ivy (or whoever) were here, of course, you would ask their permission; tell them your idea; and if they like it they might write it with you. 🙂

@Jon Eckart Now, if you for a friendship with someone on--and off-site, you might form a partnership with them, and write stories together (like Chase and Carmen; or Chase and Ivy; or Lucy and I) and then you will just put a statement saying that this story is a co-write with whoever. In fact, if you collaborate with this person a lot, people will just assume they have your permission; although you should always say it anyway, just as a common courtesy. In fact, ironically, the only people whose permission you must always ask to use their characters are "original" characters, who are creations of their individual writers (which most of us on here, are) specifically because we are not cannon. I hope that makes sense. 🙂

@Jon Eckart Now, if you want to write something, but don't have a lot of time, I would suggest posting a status; or replying to someone else's status. Or you could start a guessing game. Look under Forums/Guessing Games, and look at some things other people have done, to give you ideas. I hope that helps. 🙂
